Question nearly a week of vomitting but not gastro?

Has anyone experienced something like this?

DD, 4 years, has been vomitting since last sunday evening. But it's not the gastro pattern I'm used to. She wakes up fine in the morning, deteriorates in the afternoon/evening complaining of a sore tummy, and may or may not throw up. She's not had any fever, no diarrahea. And can't remember swallowing any toys, coins, etc.

I've been waiting nearly 4 hours now for the locum to show up So I thought I might as well put this out here to see if anyone had any similar experiences.

do you think it could be connected with her dad coming and going for work? Just an idea.

cept I can kinda sympathize, my hubby has woken sick this morning and I feel so helpless on the other side of the world and he's alone

Hope the doc turns up soon - its so hard late at night to know what to do with out of the ordinary symptoms

Thanks LCM. At this point, in hour 4 of waiting for the locum, I'm kicking myself for not going to emergency. It might have been faster!!

Ummm, I dunno. I know where the nearest emergency is, but can't remember what it's called.

I know exactly where it is, lol. I just never pay attention to the 10 foot high name on the sign. ETA: The Austin.

The locum finally showed up and confirmed it was not appendicitis or anything else that needed to be dealt with urgently. I'm still a bit confused as to why she's vomitting. He suggested a virus, but also made a comparison to tonsillitis, only in her gut - that it was a periodic inflammation somewhere in her tummy that was causing her to vomit.

He suggested it should clear up in another day, and if not to head to the GP and get a bladder infection etc ruled out.

She woke up bright and happy this morning. Ate breakfast, had a bath, a snack, and was fine. And then at 11am started complaining that her tummy hurt and she needed to throw up. If she's faking it then she's fooling me, she seems genuinely upset

poor girl Martha. It does sound like she may have an underlying issue. I think its probably a good idea to take her to the hospital, and see what they say - hopefully they can work it out (running tests and all).

How's she doing Martha? Has anything changed in her diet? Interesting that she's ok with an empty stomach but once she eats the issue arises. Won't speculate here, I'm sure your Dr can point you in the right direction if it continues.

Hope she isn't too miserable and you aren't too
