Default Morning sickness and baby's sex

I was just talking to a friend. She swears that with girls you tend to get more morning sickness than boys.

I don't agree with her. I know women who had no morning sickness, but had daughters. Friend thinks that's only a very small percentage.

SO what do you all say from your experience? Poll added.

I have very little morning sickness - the only times I threw up were:

*On the way to my Grandmothers funeral. We had driven from Qld to Melb a few days earlier, and then spent just about every day driving... I think it was just motion sickness.

    and

*Near the END of pregnancy when I was sick with some sort of bug.

Otherwise, I just felt kinda queasy a lot of the time (like you do BEFORE you throw up), and couldn't stand the smell of most food because it was so strong and made my stomach feel worse.

I would hardly class what I had as proper morning sickness.

    I had a daughter.

Also didn't follow the other wives-tale... the one that says if you put on weight all over you're having a girl, if you put it on in the belly only, you're having a boy.

I only put on belly... and yeah, daughter.

I was alot sicker wit the girls than i was with the boys.
I think it just depends on the person though- you either get it or you dont. Luck- or in my case- NOT luck.

Oh and i didnt vote- there arent enough options for someone with 4 kids- sorry.

I can't vote as I've got three kids but...

#1 - DS - I had all day m/s vomited probably 30+ times a day until I was 20 weeks (then had a UTI for 3 weeks so extra vomiting but not m/s related) I lost about 10kgs. I had major food aversions couldn't set foot near the kitchen without being sick let alone in it!

#2 - DD1 - I had m/s just not as bad, I'd be nausous from waking up but would actually be sick from 3-9pm, I could eat almost what I wanted as long as it was before 3pm after that it came back up. It was nowhere near as bad as with DS. Still had food aversions and couldn't step foot in the kitchen if it was after 3pm. This lasted until I was about 25 weeks and I lost 8-9kgs

#3 - DD2 - I was mostly nauseous would vomit several times a day but nothing like the other two. Any strong smelling foods being cooked or stored in the fridge made me sick and if I was really tired I couldn't go into the kitchen but once again not as bad as he other two pregnancies. it finished at 16.5 weeks last time so made my pregnancy much more enjoyable. I only lost 4kgs.

Personally from talking to my friends we all react differently to each pregnancy no matter what the gender (I have a friend with 5 kids two boys and three girls and said all her pregnancies were totally different no matter what the gender)

my mum had 2 girls and never threw up once!!

but i guess its all a myth like many other things to do with pregnancy.

eveyones bodies are different and handle things differently.
