Default Comforters - does you baby use it??

Wasn't sure where to put this..

I just bought my DS a cute little pink comforter - like those small blanket things with a teddybear head and 4 knots that a baby can chew on? Hope i'm making sense here..

Anyways, I was hoping that DD will use this to go to sleep, rather than her dummy - like this can be her sleep 'signal'. I tried it once and I have found that she's fasicnated by it and just holds it above her head and stares at it rather than going to sleep.

I'm hoping as time goes by, she'll know it's time to go to sleep but just curious as to other ppl's experiences - has/does anyone use it and does it work?????

    Yep!!!

We took dummy of DS at about 6mnths as he wasnt sleeping well and replaced it with a snuggle blanket (I cut a larger one into two so I have a spare ) and now he won't go to sleep without it.

He stuffs it is his mouth if he is really tired, it is very cute.

My DD was given a rabbit version when she was 5 days old and we've since bought two more the theory being we could have a dirty one a clean one away and the one she was holding onto. She now has to have all the clean ones onher bed with her at night. I'll be doing the same for this bub when she's born as I'd just put my DD and her "nunny" down when DD down when she was sleepy from a young age and yes they do go through phases of playing with them but it's ok too as they amuse themselves off to sleep.

My DD has one exactly the same as the one you've just bought

My mum gave it to her when she was nine months old, but it wasn't until she was about 18 months I guess that she got really attached to it. She hasn't used a dummy since she was about 7 months old.

She's almost three now and she sleeps with it all the time. She had to have a day procedure in hospital yesterday and her "mermer" went with her and she clutched him for 4 hours solid LOL.

I read somewhere though that they don't form attachment to objects until 8/9 months at the earliest so you might find she doesn't take much notice of whether it's there or not until then.

I think little children's comfort objects are adorable
