Default Formula brands that help bowel movements?

What formula brand(s) have people found to be gentle on bub's digestion and bowels (encouraging regular bowel movements) ??

Nan1 HA Gold has given Troy explosive poop. He was on Heinz Nurture before and wasn't going at all.

I agree that Nan (in my experience) seems to be the best. There is a brand (can't remember the name, sorry) that makes one for constipation (among other things) but according to my MCHN they shouldn't be allowed to make it. Not quite sure what that means, but I stayed away from it.

I found s26 made DD constipated and have heard many say it. Was that the one Mrs Potts?
We changed to Karicare and alls good.

No Tabby, it wasn't S26, although that one is renowned for causing constipation.

There is a range of formulas to alleviate different problems, supposedly, eg constipation, diorheah (I know that's wrong but my brain has switched off), and others, but I've always been sceptical about them.

I've found the best way to stop constipation all together is to add 20ml of extra water to each bottle (10mls to a newborns as they drink less more often). I've never found changing formulas have helped much because there is so much else to take into consideration with changing formula and the cost involved if bubs won't drink it.

I used this with my last little boy and found it was great. It is easier to digest because it it 100% whey, no cassien. All formulas are sold as whey dominant. They are usually 60% whey 40% cassien, but don't quote me. Well ok you can if I'm wrong.

S26 also made Oli constipated. I could hear him in bed for 4 or 5 hours overnight pushing but no poo would come out, poor bub. We also switched to NAN 1HA gold, and like the others said it does produce fairly toxic poos, but they are regular and predictable and non-stressful, which is a good thing!
