Bfp complete surprise

Hi everyone, so some of you may remember me from the IVF groups after struggling to conceive DD2 for 4 years, 7 medicated injectable cycles, several IUI's, 7 IVF cycles and lots of frozen cycles- a very long and tiring road. DD2 is now 3 and a half and every since she was born my periods which were non existent due to PCOS returned naturally and pretty regular apart from 3-4 cycles where I ovulated late. We always wanted another child but thought we had no chance with our history.
That was until last month when my period didn't turn up when expected. I honestly didn't even consider I could be pregnant at first and put it down to another late ovulation. Two weeks went by and I was feeling sick but put that down to my allergies. On Friday I decided to take a test and hunted all over the house for an old internet cheapie which turned out to be out of date. I took the test regardless and two lines came up instantly, I was in shock but it honestly made sense. I confirmed it again yesterday morning with an in date frer test.
I am going to the dctrs today any way with DD2 so my plan is to ask then for a confirmation blood test. I need advice though what do I also ask for? I need reasurrance due to my history. I know I need my progesterone checking to make sure I don't need progesterone support. I was going to ask for a second hcg blood test in several days to check for doubling but I have now read online that if I am 6 weeks then my numbers may take longer to double is this right? I am hoping I can be referred to an ob quickly to check everything out, I was on an immune protocol with DD2 presume all these bases might need covering again? Also will I be give an early scan? I have had a blighted ovum in my past too, need to know all is good. Sorry for my ramblings finding this all very confusing and don't feel I fit in the celebratory bfp threads as I am so cautious plus don't fit in IVF groups although feels as nervous as the ladies there. Also now aged 40 so have added complications there.

Thanks both of you, yes I remember you changing your name Mamasupial. I have just had bloods done and have the paperwork here for a scan. Still feeling this is a bit crazy tbh can't believe I am here.

Thanks everyone, just had initial bloods back and hcg is 71700 and progesterone 37. Looking on beta base the hcg looks to be in a good range but progesterone sounds low to me. Not sure though as I did my IVF with Wazza and I know he liked progesterone to be over 100 but haven't conceived naturally before so who knows?? My GP says if I can get an appointment with my obstetrician asap then he will do a scan in his rooms but if not I can go to a scan centre. Unfortunately just rang up my obstetrician though and he's on leave, unknown how long for and not taking new patients at this stage. Not sure if I hang on to see if he's available in a few weeks? I have a long history with him but need care asap to make sure all is good. Symptoms have eased a lot the past few days, worrying this isn't going to happen.

I am in a similar situation. IVF for babies 1 and 2. Baby 2 was under Dr Lolatgis, high NKC and DQ alpha match. 6 stim cycles, multiple FETS, immune protocol ect.. In feb this year found out somehow we naturally conceived and I’m now 22 weeks pregnant at 39yrs old. I have done nothing extra to maintain this pregnancy. No complications, just a healthy, naturally conceived miracle. Congratulations [emoji323].

Oh wow [MENTION=48790]fin[/MENTION]negan huge congratulations. So nice to read of someone else going through the same thing and going well at 22 weeks. My mind is in bits, thinking I need progesterone support and intralipids. Then my mind is in overdrive thinking something is wrong, I don't feel that heaviness of pregnancy or twinges, but maybe that's due to not being a medicated cycle? Wishing you all the best with the rest of your pregnancy xx

Thanks. It’s crazy isn’t it, to think after trying so hard for so long that this is even possible. I did have a few implantation cramps in the beginning and my morning sickness kicked in early as no steroids to keep it at bay this time, but no other twinges or anything too dramatic. I definitely do think the progesterone kicks the pregnancy symptoms into overdrive. I know it’s hard not to stress after everything you’ve been through. What ever pregnancy support you decide on, I’m sure you’ll make the best decision for you and bubs x

We had our 1st ob appointment yesterday, by GP requested I see her as an emergency due to my history. We saw 1 little bub, looking just on track around 7.1 weeks with a beating heart. She put me on a small dose of progesterone support for reassurance more than anything. She has also booked me in for a scan each week for next 5 weeks, pretty happy so far.
