He'll probably settle better for them, babies are often very cheeky with their parents but adapt well in different environments

    • Poor ds. I left him with dh & went to the other end of the house, given dh was the one who woke him up. Ds is now crying in the bath (normally loves the bath) cause hes so exhausted. it makes me sad listening to him cry. Hopefully he'll breastfeed to sleep this evening, fingers crossed

Try breastfeeding/rocking/patting to sleep until bub is very drowsy but not actually asleep. Then slowly increase the awakenesa for each nap. Habits that are introduced during a regression are very hard to break - I can see why your DH is worried. I can also understand how you are frustrated.

        • 5am seriously? Just because he went down easily last night does not mean after waking a few times that you get to get up at 5am!

If it's not one it's the other! DS wakes resettle him then DD wakes settle her then DS wakes again every 30 bloody minutes!!! One full nights sleep wouldn't kill either of them or me for that matter!! How do kids live off such little amounts of sleep?!

                • I am at my wits end with DS and his sleep. He is almost 2 and every bedtime is a ridiculous battle that leaves me steaming and resenting ever having him some days. I don't know what to do with him anymore. Today was 35 plus degrees. I took him to a play centre to run him ragged for 2.5 hours. We then went out to dinner. Home for bath and milk. Bedtime. Cue the 45 min battle to get the child to go the eff to sleep. Any other kid I know would have been asleep with his face in his food after today but not my offspring. Noooooo. He's not even 2. What the eff is he going to be like at 3 or 4?? I can't cut his day sleep or I end up with a screaming mess. If I let him sleep he won't go to bed at night. I'm so fricken over it!!!!!!

And he's still sleeping in my bed at night because I can't take anymore sleep deprivation after being the only one to get up to him at night since he was born. I honestly think I'm going to have some kind of breakdown soon.

                  • Is this just a thread for random venting about children and their non-sleeping habits??
I hope so because that's what I'm doing. Too tired to care if it's not haha.

*yawn* Miss3 was up until 1:30 this morning. Which is late for her since she has been on her melatonin but I know, I know, at least it's not 3am like it used to be. But, because I am a bit sick at the moment (on medication for vertigo and now a cold as well) I was so tired earlier on and then hit second wind so wasn't able to get to sleep til 3. Then the 18 month old woke at 3:30. Back down after 15 minutes. Then up at 6:50 to get everyone ready for school. Hooray.

                    • I have been struggling with a FOMO child for so long now. Simply refuses to go to sleep and fights it for hours. I wish they knew how much they'd love sleeping when they're older!
