  • Volunteers needed - online Peer Support group for parents of premmie & unwell babies

    Hi All,

The Life's Little Treasures Foundation is one of Australia's leading charities supporting families who have had premmie or unwell babies by providing resources, information, peer support, encouragement, and more.

We are currently seeking parents who have experienced having their baby in NICU or Special Care Units in Australia and who are willing to assist others through this journey by becoming a Peer Support Volunteer. With a team of other volunteers you will provide encouragement, support, and a compassionate ear to others through a facilitated Peer Support Facebook Group. There are three closed Facebook Groups that run live 3 hours sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays during the day and one on Wednesday evenings specific for Dads. Volunteers respond to families in the group via a live Facebook chat by typing responses to their comments and questions.

All Peer Support Volunteers are asked to complete a National Police Check and online training prior to starting.

To do this role you will need to have had a premature or sick baby of your own and be 12 months on from your experience. Preferably your baby is now aged between 1-10 years. You will also need access to two devices (eg. laptop & tablet) to participate in the sessions.

If you, or someone you know would be interested in volunteering with us you can contact me, Lisa, at volunteer@lifeslittletreasures.org.au.

    Thank you .

    Lisa
