  • How to arrange DQ Alpha match testing?

Forgive me if this is in another thread (can’t find it) - is there a specific way to organise DQ alpha match testing without seeing a reproductive immunologist? I’m in Brisbane. TIA! [emoji177]

Hey ! Not sure if you worked it out already but Dr M in Sydney does it (you have to fly to Sydney). I flew to Sydney and paid about $1700 for bloods to be sent to Chicago. He does a range of other testing too if you think you may have auto or allo immune issues. If you only do the HLA/DQ alpha I’m fairly sure it’s free if charge... Good luck !!

Thanks! And apologies, BH didn't send me a notification about your reply, and I haven't been on the forum for a few months. Really appreciate the advice [emoji4]

Is it possible to get the request from your normal GP?

Thank you [emoji4] Good to know where the test can be ordered from. I think the trick is also finding a Dr who's comfortable interpreting the results (I know Drs are taught not to order tests if they feel unqualified to provide treatment advice based on the results - i.e. instead they should refer to a specialist). Maybe something to ask my FS again...

No harm in asking. At least it's covered my Medicare, much better than being out of pocket, just depends on whom refers you, private practice it's generally not under Medicare, that's why I would see if GP can order it and you can always get another dr added for the results
