Unfortunately 2 years TTC has meant the age gap between 2 and 3 will be 3 and a half years...I was really stressed for this belly bubba being left out and lonely... I was already thinking of how to convince DH to go for a fourth just so this one is not alone...
Now I'm starting to feel positive for the gap... Especially since DS will start school just before this Bub is born... DD and this one will have more one on one time together...
Just wanted to let you know I think personality plays a part - not necessarily age. I was closest to my eldest brother and we were 4 years apart. My brother who was 18 months older - well we did not get on at all growing up!

My sibs are 1-2 2.5yr gap, 2-3 5.5yr gap, 3-4 2.5yr gap, 4-5 2yr gap

I loved being older when #3 was born. Myself and #2 get on well now but hated each other when we were growing up. #2+3 didn't get along when growing up but do now. #3,4 and 5 all get along great although #5 being the only boy did mean that #3+4 did gang up on him at times.

This was our plan, unfortunately life had other ideas and we will have a 4.5 year age gap despite actively TTC from when DS was 1.
Thank you Barnaby for posting, this gives me hope! A few people have commented that the age gap is 'too much' - DS is SO excited to be a big brother and with HG this time around I am thankful that he can dress himself/toilet himself/is at school etc. especially as DH is working away during the week.

Congratulations!!

I honestly wouldn't worry about the gap. I think it is more dependent on personalities, my ds1 is a very caring and gentle boy who adores his siblings and my dd looks up to her big brother and thinks he hung the moon. They play so nicely and because of the gap there isnt as much arguing/competition. They share a room (by choice) and really truly love each other. I could go on for days about the positives.
