  • Anyone done the registration for Queensland?

I am going to register, but have no idea where to start with the planning for a year and the report process.

If you have done it, how did you do it?

I know what subjects I want to cover, but not sure how to do a plan for a whole year.

Any help with this would be great.
I have already been in touch with HEU and they are sending me an application pack and some information to do with it all.

    Thanks
    Tania

I've not registered as yet but am planning to in 2012. Your first step was right to contact HEU, their website also has lots of good info on it as a starting point. You can also look at HEU website and they have a getting started pack http://www.hea.edu.au plus you can look at the national curriculum http://www.australiancurriculum.edu.au/ plus also the Qld Studies Authority http://www.qsa.qld.edu.au/574.html. Also Beverley Paine has great resources, here is the link to her website http://www.australianhomeschoolcurriculum.com/

Plus there are lots of blogs, homeschooling forums which also outline other people's learning plans that have been approved by HEU.

        Thanks for that.
I have also joined rockpool forum.
But I think I will wait till HEU are back and ring them.
I have a basic plan outline, still fine tuning it.
But some of the resources I would like to use for some of it, will be dependent on money too.
We are living a bit tight at the moment.
Where do you find resources to teach things about Australia?
Since we are new to the country, I was thinking of covering the LOTE, SOSE and science on Australia.
Learning some of the Aboriginal language, maps/states of Australia, iconic animals of Australia, what the money looks like, the time difference between states, that kind of thing.
Any one have any suggestions or links?
