So today was World Premmie Day....

Hi miss kitty, there is an interesting thread on the premmie forum section about "how early was your bub".

My little princess was born at 25 weeks weighing 635g, she's 6 months actual next Monday and will be 11 weeks, we stayed for 102 days in the NICU and I've been thinking about it all day :-)

Great to see the day is raising awareness!

Gosh, what a long journey you and your tiny fighter had. We were only there for 8 weeks, but I've been thinking of it too.

I wish you and your bub all the good things in life xxx
ETA, I see you live in Perth - we were at KEMH

It's so inspiring and so humbling to think of these tiny, amazing humans and the incredible NICU staff that care for them.

Re: So today was World Premmie Day....

My brother was born at 28 weeks. He spent about 4 months in the hospital. He is now 17 years old and you would never believe he was a premmie! I thought about it too today. I can't believe how well my mum handles the entire time, and dealt with a 6yr old (me) who was afraid to go see her because she had needles in her hand! I also think about it more as I approach the 28 weeks pregnant mark (Tuesday...)

Wtf. My sister just had a baby just now. 31 weeks but baby size of a 27 week baby. In shock. come out screaming. I had a 34+2 but this one is so much earlier.

We were in hospital last year with Bub during prem week, home by premmie day.
Bub was born at 34.5w due to massive placental haemmorhage and caught up quickly. No health issues. Very lucky. The staff in Box Hill's little SCN were amazing and we still go to visit them. They dressed up the isolettes during prem week. The whole thing had a huge effect on me, and I too love hearing premmie stories

Miss Kitty, thanks for coming to my aid in the AP thread ~ system won't let me post in there right now.
