I'm so excited for the scan, but also a little nervous. It looks like DP won't be able to be able to come, but we both so wish that she could. I'm going to go with my phone all charged up to take videos and pictures, and a list of questions to ask, because I'm likely to forget when the time comes!

I like What To Expect as well. I'm also a fan of Ovia. Sprout Pregnancy is also incredible, but you have to pay- I'm almost at the end of my free trial.

Wonderful line! I felt nothing until the day of my beta, and then when I arrived at Melbourne IVF I immediately wanted to vomit. Figured I was nervous about the results (it was our last embryo), but turns out it was a sign of so much more queasiness to come. HCG is a harsh mistress.

I’ve been managing the nausea and fatigue fairly well, but today’s milestone was my first (and second) time actually being sick. It happened after taking ondansetron too

Last week I downloaded a bunch of different pregnancy tracking apps, so I could work our which one I like the best. I haven’t made a decision yet, but I do love being able to read about the changes happening inside of me!
I love tracking everything as well. I've used What to Expect, Ovia, and Pregnancy+ (all free). I like Ovia and Pregnancy+ because each new week they have an informative summary of what your baby and your body is up to. My wife and I sit down every Sunday and read them out together, it's been a nice way to keep her involved (Her: "omg he has eyebrows this week! Eyebrows!!" )

I'm so nervous about symptoms! Last time they started up then disappeared and that made sense when it turned out we'd miscarried. So I'm like "please, bring on the throwing up!"

Congratulations! That’s a great number. Try to enjoy it... although I know you’ll be having a bit of anxiety leading up to the scan. How are you feeling?

Thanks lovely! Yep, I feel happy and pretty calm but also I won't feel like it's really happening unless we see a heartbeat on that scan...

I'll have a repeat HCG in a week just to check in on things in the meantime.

How are you going?!

Congrats, what a great result! I hope it gave you some breathing room to hear the official result. Now the wait until April begins.... sometimes it seems like it’s just never ending waiting on this journey!

• Yesterday was a stressful day. I had some bleeding and cramping. We ended up at the mother’s hospital, and I was taken to an exam room pretty quickly. Unfortunately this meant leaving my partner and stepdaughter, and our phones were on such low charge because we hadn’t planned on being there!

I had to wait for blood results to come back before the doctor would see me and do an ultrasound. After about two and a half hours I got my blood work back. HCG was sitting at 57793, so not a concern. I then got taken in for a very fuzzy ultrasound and got to see the flicking heartbeat!

So- everything looks okay for the time being and I got talked through various reasons why this can occur in early pregnancy, that it’s fairly normal, etc etc. It was fantastic to get the peace of mind, but absolutely terrifying to be in that situation.

I still go to see my fertility specialist for my dating scan on Wednesday. He happened to be at the hospital and one of the nurses mentioned to him that I was there, and he popped his head in to see what was happening how I was going, which was so lovely. So. I’ll see him on Wednesday, have the scan and the recommended repeat bloods, and possibly another scan in a couple of weeks.

Honestly I’m still feeling a bit scared and anxious. I hope the clearer internal ultrasound in a few days will provide a bit more calm for me.

• Sounds stressful indeed este. But very reassuring you saw a flickering heartbeat! I had heavy bleeding with my first pregnancy, cramping too! Turns out bub was fine and it was unexplained bleeding. So yes, in my experience bleeding can be normal.
BBBB Feeling pretty good at the moment. Hormones seem to have settled now as I haven’t been throwing up for a good 3 weeks. I’m 21+4 weeks now and enjoying this part of pregnancy.

Have you moved house yet Boxergirl?

Very weird to be in a new state (Adelaide) and being isolated given things at the moment! At least the weather is lovely!

30 weeks yesterday.

How’re you going?!

• Yesterday I had my dating scan. Everything went really well, I was able to see and hear the heartbeat Seeing as we got such a strong heartbeat he wasn't too concerned about repeat bloods/another scan in a few weeks, which made me feel very much reassured.

So unless something major happens, we're now officially out of his care! But we'll be back when it's time for DP to have another one.

• @este that's fabulous! Such a big milestone hit <3

Just got my rechecked HCG back and it's still well above average (over 18,000 at 5 weeks 4 days) so it seems like a strong one! (Hopefully just one!) So that's reassuring. Also explains why I'm feeling so seedy all the time Progesterone is good too (which I guessed by how frequently I need to pee and how I can't sleep anymore).

Scan is still eleven days away but I'll try to keep my anxiety as under control as possible.

Hope you're all coping okay in this mad world xxx
