Bub Hub has been acquired by iconic healthcare provider, Mater

Bub Hub is still here.

In a year that brought so many unimaginable changes and challenges, Bub Hub was about to be one of the many casualties of the pandemic.

After almost 20 years as a trusted source of information and a valued community forum for many parents and parents-to-be, it was announced the site was to close in July 2020.

After the announcement, messages of gratitude and thanks came flooding in. Stories of support found, friendships forged and valuable advice given and received.

Thankfully, Bub Hub is still here.

Today we can formally announce that Bub Hub has been acquired by leading healthcare provider, Mater—one of Australia’s largest maternity service providers.

Mater recognised that Bub Hub has been an important and cherished resource for Australians since it was established in 2002 by first-time parents Brad and Hilary Lauder.

Mater acquired Bub Hub to support the valuable community forum connection and conversation and to make Mater’s trusted maternity expertise more accessible to the community.

For more than 100 years, Mater has been an icon of compassion and mercy throughout Queensland and Australia. It has earned its place in the hearts and minds of many people and has become a much-loved part of the community.

Mater will revitalise Bub Hub in the coming months and—as one of Australia’s most trusted maternity services, delivering more than 12,000 babies every year—brings a strong reputation, credibility and contemporary evidence-based knowledge in maternity care.

With Mater’s backing, Bub Hub now has unvetted access to the minds of Australia’s leading maternity and paediatric health experts, complementing our already stellar line up of expert contributors and authors. Our team—across editorial, marketing and sales—are also in the thick of the sleep deprivation, stress, and unconditional love that comes with the territory.

Through Bub Hub, Mater’s trusted expertise will be more accessible to all parents and parents-to-be across Australia.

We will continue to be a safe place for our incredible community of over 82,000 new, seasoned, expecting and hopeful mums (and dads!).

We are here.
