doulas
home > directory > doulas
A doula is a non-medical helper, who is there to support and assist the expectant or new mother. Birth doulas stay with the mum-to-be during labour and birth, providing emotional support. Post-natal doulas assist new mothers once at home with emotional support as well as physical assistance around the home. If you would like to read more, have a read of a recent article from our e-newsletter (see link below).
We have also listed a small number of 'trainee' doulas. These are doulas who are almost at the end of their training who will offer their services on a selective basis free of charge. Trainee status is indicated with listings if applicable.
