Had the stroller for my son since birth to 3 years old. I also bought the compatable bassinet which is super cute and keeps the newborns cosy. Also bought the carseat attachment for Safe n Sound Unity capsule so I could easily transfer bub to and from car without waking him. This Stroller is really sturdy, the quality of the build is impressive and I particularly like the shade canopy which can be extended so baby is always protected from the sun so you don't need one of those parasols.
I bought one 4 years ago when I had my first child. I used it constantly from birth until my son turned two and a half. It seemed comfy and roomy for him throughout. It was easy to fold up and good on most type of surfaces, even if taken a little off road.
A downfall is the basket area under the seat as it is hard to access even when the seat is up and not in recline position.
It has been in storage for the last year and I've now pulled it out again to use with my 2 week old daughter. It looks good as new and I have no worries using it again. It wasn't cheap to buy as you are buying the name, but considering it is being used for 2 kids it is worth it. The accessories such as rain cover as also really good and kept little ones nice and dry.
I purchased the Maclaren Techno XLR after doing a lot of research (including on the Hub!). I wanted an stroller that would go from birth to toddlerhood, would fold up easily, was lightweight and wasn't too big. The Techno XLR is perfect for me!
It is suitable from birth - either with bubs simply lying down in the stroller or lying in a capsule or soft carry cot (both can be purchased separately). We purchased the soft carry cot which we found to be very useful both when out and about with the stroller and when visiting people and needing somewhere for bubs to sleep. The carry cot allows bub to face you when walking in the stroller which was great. However it was a bit of an effort to attach and the stroller can't be folded down with the carry cot attached.
Our stroller included a soft liner, rain cover and boot to keep bub warm in winter. The liner is easy to attach and remove and very easy to wash.
The canopy is fantastic - it unzips to extend further so that bub can be very well covered to protect from the weather (or prying strangers!). There is a plastic window on top so that you can peek in and it is also covered with netting to protect from sun.
I find the basket impossible to use when the seat is fully reclined and difficult to access even when the seat is up, however I can get some shopping in. There are two other small pockets which are only suitable for keys and a mobile phone - anything heavier pulls the canopy backwards.
The handles extend which is great for my tall husband - he can push this stroller around very comfortably.
Steering is very easy - I could do it one handed not long after DS was born. The turning circle is very tight which makes it easy when getting in and out of shops.
I do find that the Techno XLR is a little heavy when lifting it in and out of the car but I do it was no problems.
I love this stroller and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stroller!
