I bought this pram for it's ability to convert to a double as I was expecting twins. Unfortunately we lost one of our babies late so my experience has been with using it for a single child. I have used it in three modes: with the maxi cosi car seat, the newborn nest and the pushchair. All three modes have been good. With one child there is plenty of space for all attachments and the storage basket is reasonably accessible. I have used this pram quite a bit off road and while I have had no problems I have noticed the wheels became worn and shabby quickly. Similarly there are scratches to metal work that have appeared despite my best effort to keep it looking good. All over though I am very happy with this pram. The folding mechanism is easy, it manoeuvres well in small spaces and has been comfortable and safe for bub.
I love love love this pram! I've been using it for more than 8 months now and cannot find anything wrong with it. I wanted a pram that could convert to a double pram easily, and all other prams I looked at missed the mark.
The iCandy Apple2Pear is fantastic in single mode - light, maneuverable, not too big or bulky, and folds up easily. It even fits in my friends tiny hatchback's boot.
In double mode, it retains the same footprint. It uses two full sized seats (or two bassinets or two capsules), instead of using an infetior second seat like many other prams I've seen. This allows you to configure the seating arrangements many ways, for example to allow the older child to sit up in the high front chair looking out while the baby is in a capsule or bassinet (newborn nest) facing you, which is a rare find.
Finally, the colour hoods (flavour packs) are interchangeable, which is great if you have two children of different genders or you just like being able to update the colours for fun!
Just be aware that there are two types of bassinets - the stand alone bassinet, and the newborn nest. The newborn nest efectively converts the seat frame into a bassinet. The sides are soft which is good for small cars but that means it cannot be used off the pram frame. The bassinet is a traditional bassinet. You cannot use the traditional bassinet in tandem mode, only the newborn nest can be used in tandem mode. I found the newborn nest was a perfect lovely bassinet and much cheaper as well. It's also much easier to store when you're not using it.
Storage space in single mode is excellent, but would be compromised in tandem mode.
Suitable from birth with capsule, basinet or newborn nest.
