I already have a 19 month old and recently had another baby. when I started looking for a double I wanted a tandem as I live in the city and felt it would suit my lifestyle better. So far I havnt been disappointed. The width is great for getting on and off buses, into shops etc and it's only slightly longer than a normal single pushchair.
I started with the main seat and lower carrycot for the newborn and there are a couple of downsides of this configuration. Firstly tou can't access the basket from the back which is a bit of a pain but you can still use it for small items from the front. Also it can be a bit tricky putting baby in the carrycot but I imagine this is the case for most tandems.
Overall i really like this pushchair. I bought it second hand so have the older model. The new version 3 has quite a few upgrades such as the seats can be either direction, the lower seat can be more upright. I think if you are purchasing a pushchair for your first child with the option of using it as a double it is definitely worth considerIng spending the money in getting the new peach 3.
