We use this monitor when out in the garden while bub is sleeping.
Have nothing but praise for it - it has less interference than our more expensive in-house monitor. Crystal clear reception and we can travel quite a distance from the base unit and still have clear reception.
It's been dropped dozens of times and still works just fine.
The batteries seem to last ages, too, before recharging.
Easy to use and value for money if you want a simple unit that just does sound.
we had this monitor with baby #1, we had nothing but trouble with it. Got lots of interference and static noise. Couldnt even plug our mobile phone in to charge in the same room as the monitor as the montior would just start buzzing! (really annoying when its buzzing in the bedroom & we are trying to sleep!)
The nightlight function broke after not too long as well. also the recharging base for the parents unit was fiddly to recharge as it wouldnt sit in the holder nicely after a while and kept popping out so it wasnt charging properly. The whole thing is pretty flimsy! and for the price (around $70 or so i think) i would expect more!!
all in all not a monitor i would reccommend to anyone.. we now have 2nd baby and i will most likely be buying the Oricom DECT one so i am positive we wont have the interference issues we had with this one!
