We love taking our 2 kids here. It's such a great place with so many things to look at. Amazing displays of beautiful underwater creatures and it's also very informative (for the older kids and adults). Our 2 year old loves to run around looking at all the fish.
Definitely a family friendly place, and even room to push a pram around (though I have never tried with my twin side by side as I think it would be a bit too squishy).
Tickets are quite reasonably priced and you can often get vouchers for discount tickets or buy them cheager through RACQ. The food in the cafe is a bit overpriced and not very exciting though.
I love this for my children. I think that it is great for the younger child as well as the older child. They especially love the underwater aquarium travellator with the older children loving the seal show.
Highly recommend this place for families!
My 2 year old loved Underwater World! Its great for kids as the glass viewing panels accommodate youngsters as they can see everything... my daughter ran from tank to tank yelling OOOOOWWWWW.
She loved touching the starfish and seeing the seal show. For Mum and Dad also it was entertaining and enjoyable, more so because our daughter loved it so much.
The tickets were reasonably priced and you can spend as long as you like wandering around. We took a packed lunch and ate it in the seal viewing tank area where our daughter ran around on the stairs.
We will definately return.
We visited Underwater World recently and really enjoyed it. It was a very informative yet fun day out for my eldest son, and there were a lot of opportunities for him to get up close and personal with the marine life. One of the first displays upon entry was a touch tank where children were able to touch sea cucumbers and the like, and it was probably the highlight of the outing. He also enjoyed seeing the sharks, otters and seals. The entire day overall was very educational and enjoyable.
The facilities were family friendly, and I thought the tickets were quite reasonably priced. I would suggest arriving early if visiting on the weekend or a public holiday though, as the car park filled up very quickly and we were required to park off-street.
We went there before we had children so I can only imagine how much better it will be with children!
There are interactive areas where you can touch the marine life, areas that inform you on all the animals etc that they have there.
The shows are fun and informative. Cant wait to go again!
