With a hormonal teenager in the house that knows how to push all the right buttons, I was looking forward to reading this book to hopefully get some peacekeeping ideas.
Dr Cross has written a very easy to read book, which is extremely easy to relate to. It is filled with practical examples, which makes you realise you aren't alone in the teenage parenting struggles.
While alot of the advise is commonsense, it does spell out practical steps in how to deal with situations ... reminds us one again to 'pick our battles' instead of sweating on the small stuff, which is so easy to forget when dealing with a teen.
The chapter with the 30 hints for raising adosolents is a fantastic reminder of important things that sometimes get missed with our busy lifestyles ... this section is already looking dog eared from being re-read.
In all, this book is worth a read (and a re-read) if you are raising a teenager ... hopefully ours will be a more harmonious household with happy parents and teen when we put some of the ideas in place.
