I find this wrap very easy to use, mostly comfortable although it can get a bit uncomfortable on the one shoulder after a while with a heavier baby, however i mostly bought it to use with my newborn and i actually find at this stage (he is only 3 weeks) i dont fully trust it as he seems to slide too far down in the wrap and i am worried about his breathing. I loved it for my older baby in the past, and i am sure i will like it again for this one when he is a bit bigger, mostly due to the ease of use and putting baby in it.
Overall a great wrap, and my concerns may just reflect my lack of abilities to place bub properly, but i just dont trust it 100% for a very newborn baby.
I should start out by saying I am usually a wrapper and love my wraps. However with doing school drop offs and pickups find wrapping can be a bit tedious for such a short time frame and I really need my hands free for holding my older childs hand in the carpark, crossing the road etc. So I bought this based on a few recommendations from friends and am finding it very conveinent. I love the pocket for chucking my keys/wallet and mobile in. The padded shoulder helps heaps as a lot of other ring slips I have used tend to slip up to the neck and cause shoulder pain. Best of all my baby loves it too. Everyone at school comments about how comfortable she looks and how pretty my sling is. We are frequently told she is 'wrapped in a rainbow' :)
I'm loving my Maya Wrap lightly padded ring sling!
I've tried other ring slings in the past but just found that they put too much pressure on my shoulder, causing my back issues so I was reluctant to try another one, but still wearing my toddler regularly became an issue while pregnant, I found my normal carrier of choice (BabyHawk Mei Tai) but too much pressure on my expanding belly and needing to do the school run I wanted something quick and easy yet still comfortable so went with this.
It's easy and simple to use and the padded shoulder just makes it SO much more comfrotable. I use it for hip carrying my toddler and am keen to give it a go when my newbie arrives as well.
For anyone wanting a ring sling, i'd say definitely go for this one!
