love this pram, i have a pram fettish and this is my 6th pram for my only child. very large seat, easily fits my 26 month old. many people have complained about the seat in the recline position, yeah it does look uncomfortable. but my 2 year old sleeps fine in it for hours. ive had a peg pergero pliko p3, valco trimode, childcare discovery, valco everest, maclaren quest & the valco rad is by far my faveourite. very modern looking too! its very easy to steer, i quite often talk on the phone and have no probs steering when i do. brakes are very good & easy to apply. i love the fact that bubs can face me. i have bought a universal rain cover for it, which works fine. i havnt bought a sunshade but i just change the direction of the seat. i bought a valco liner which fits perfectly. my only fault with this pram was when we first purchased it, it was a little sticky to collapse. now that the pram has been used more it is fine. i love this pram!

The Valco Rad seemed a great pram as far as size goes for my small car upon trying it before buying. However, once the car seat was in and the anchor for that needed to go into my small 4 wheel drive boot, I was unable to fit it properly each time and had no where to put anything else. Apart from that, it is quite heavy and was hard to get in and out when I was just getting my strength back from giving birth but now it's a great workout and I can totally collapse it much more easily. My daughter slept in the basinette up until she grew too long for it and started pushing herself to the end at about 3 months. The foam mattress was a hazard with the wheat pack that I heated up and burned a whole in it. I also found it frustrating to access the nappy bag in the parcel compartment with the basinette on and it's not much easier with the stroller attachment. Totally ignored manufacturers recommending not to use the stroller until they are 6 months and have started using it at 3 months. She is very happy sleeping in totally reclined with feet up. I have put on some cute little harness protects which she hugs and sucks on as she goes to sleep. Also agree though that the straps have a stupid inability of tighting them at the back though. Just about to purchase the UV cover which I'm told will fit as there is not a custom made one and it will also need a liner for summer as it get's hot being black and not a custom one available. Needs a cover as sun goes directly on baby in recline. Also just bought the Valco Banquet highchair as I really like the funky Valco products.

I have found the Rad to be a very good pram although it does have a few annoying problems. I purchased my Rad when they had just been released on the market so these problems may have been since rectified.
Like everyone else who has reviewed the Rad I have had problems with the front wheels turning in on themselves (usually when I hit a bump) and the shape of the seat is absurd. I never lay it back when my baby is sleeping as her legs will be in the air. Luckily she is more than happy to sleep in the upright position. One other problem I have found with the Rad is that the straps are huge. My baby is 12 months old and the straps are still way too big for her and they are on the smallest setting. I overcame this problem when she was younger by putting a padded insert behind her but now that it is summer the padding makes her too hot so it has come out. I found the instructions that came with the Rad to be quite useless. I originally had to resort to trial and error to work out how to do certain things with it and there are still bits on the pram that have me wondering what they do. I purchased the bassinet with my pram and my baby slept in it every night until she was about 5 months old. The bassinet is a really good size. I find the Rad very easy to manoeuvre when I'm out and never have problems fitting through check outs or into elevators. My husband likes to show people that you can spin the Rad around on the spot with just one hand! I like that the Rad has suspension and find that no matter how bumpy the footpath is it never seems to bother my baby. The storage under the seat is huge. I can fit at least two green shopping bags underneath the seat. The Rad folds up very easily and fits into the boot of my hatchback with no problems. I never have to take the seat off to fit it in my car - unless of course the seat is facing me, in which case it's not designed to fold down. The Rad even fit easily in my car while I was using the bassinet. I like that the seat can face forwards or backwards. This comes in very handy when it's quite sunny as I can just face the pram around the other way. I have also purchased a Valco sunshade (fits most prams) which has come in very handy. The bassinet cover and the seat cover have come in very handy for those rare occasions when it has been raining. Another accessory that I have purchased is the Valco cup holder which is handy but quite big. It's a pity that Valco don't make a toddler seat to go on the Rad however I have seen one with a toddler stand attached to it. The Rad has most of the features that I was looking for in a pram. It's no Bugaboo, but hey... it's half the price!!

The RAD seemed to have everything we were after and we loved the fact that bubs could face us or away! The bassinet was a brilliant extra and we got loads of use out of it BUT now bubs is 6 months old and the RAD has become very difficult to manouvere unless you are going in a straight line as the front wheels fold in on one another!!! VERY ANNOYING!! It is very cumbersome to get in and out of the car FAR too heavy after having a c/s!! Do like the fact the handle height is adjustable and the storage basket is good but the it does not have a toddler seat (not an option) so will need to purchase another pram if we have another bubs soonish!! The seat attachement is VERY ODD!! It is a V shape which means bubs legs are facing skywards all the time. Until bubs has long legs that can hang down this is the way those legs will be for a long time to come!!!!!!NOT RAD quite BAD!!

The Rad was everything I thought I wanted whilst I was pregnant. But once I began using and putting all 'that stuff' into practise I realised it wasn't so.
The bassinette is a good size, so bub has been able to sleep in it downstairs - this is the biggest pro. Unfortunately it is frustrating and bulky to separate and put in and out of the car, you cant get into the parcel tray underneath the pram very easily with the bassinette attached, the front wheels go sideways all the time and so make it difficult to turn on itself and the childseat doesn't lay flat so I imagine sleeping for a 6mo+ would be difficult.

Overall the RAD is pretty good, it has the reversible seat, good manoeuvrability, is pretty lightweight for a big pram and has fantastic storage, particularly once the normal seat is being moved.
We also had the problem of the front wheels sticking which drove us mad but found some WD40 fixed it, although pretty annoying to have to do when you have paid all that money! The raincover is fine, although nowhere near as well fitted as say the Bugaboo but then the pram is half the price. They really need to do a sunshade as well. As others have said the bassinette was a good size and in fact our daughter slept in it for the first 4 weeks next to our bed which was very handy!

I thought we were happy with the RAD until recently. Our daughter is now 6 months old and trying to get her to sleep in the pram is really hard. When you recline the rad all the way down, they have made it so her legs stick up in the air (practically). The seat only reclines from waist up, which means the childs body is in a kind of "V" like position. She finds it so uncomfortable, she is always arching her back. We have put padding it, but has only helped slightly. I Recommend something like Peg Perego as it is great for sleeping babies. NOT the RAD. only useful when baby is in bassinet.

When I brought this pram it was perfect it had everything I was looking for in a pram. I love everything about it ... except that the front small wheels get stuck sideways all the time. It drives me insane. It is unfortunate because everything else about it is good. I have the bassinet attachment and it is nice and large I got a lot of use out of it.

my husband and i were quite fussy when looking for a new pram, and we think we got a good buy with the Valco Rad. We have a 2 year old, and were given a second hand Peg Perego to use when he was born. Good pram, but was 12 years old and wearing down, so was good opportunity to buy new pram when new bub came along 5 months ago. We were looking for a reversible handle but found most prams had reversible seat instead, which is what the Rad has. We liked the way the Rad had two giant buttons to push to release the seat, seemed fairly simple. I love the way i can push it around one-handed if need be, and steers pretty well while doing that. Apparently you can fold the pram up with seat still on, but we couldn't work out how, so we separate them when putting them in the boot of the car. Doesn't take much. We also bought the bassinet attachment. Was really handy when travelling, and for the first 4 months used it heaps. It is bigger than a lot of other bassinet attachments, we found, when comparing it to friend's prams. Basket is quite big, especially when using the pram seat instead of the bassinet. Overall, pretty happy with this one, as I said, were quite fussy, as we'd had opportunity with the first bub to get to know what we wanted in a pram. This didn't have exactly everything, but was the closest (by the way, there is no toddler seat for this pram, which didn't matter to us, as we have our pidgeon pair now).
