Summary: Great for outdoors
May 5th, 2007
We purchased this pram when we were pregnant with our first child; we tried out a number of different prams and the Rebel was easily the most sturdy and seemed to be built to a higher standard (ie more heavy duty).

Pros: Comes with bassinet option, handy for newborn; easy to steer with one hand; smooth ride; nice high handle; large storage area; reversible bassinet and capsule.

Cons: Very bulky, still takes up a significant amount of space when collapsed; quite heavy to lift in and out of the car; quite expensive

Overall we have been happy with our purchase. It is excellent for use outside (ie walking the streets and going over rough terrain. however I have purchased a small stroller for use in shopping centres, etc as i find the rebel rather bulky for this use. Overall a good buy

Summary: rebel pram & toddler seat
April 18th, 2007
This is one of the only prams that you can turn the baby to face you, with the added bonus of putting the toddler seat over the rear two wheels. This way the toddler won't be balancing over the front wheel and risking tipping the pram. I only found a problem with the toddler seat being there was no head rest - I stitched a few press studs between it and the pram visor to extend it so my son could sleep if needed. Also, alot of toddler seats don't have enough space underneath - the rebel one has more space for the baby's legs than others in my experience.

Summary: I love mine
March 28th, 2007
Some of the benefits of this pram include that the seat seperates from the frame. This was important to me as I have a hatchback and need to allow room for the car seat strap to cross the middle of my bootspace to attach to the back. All of the wheels come off at a push of a button very easily and pop back on. This was helpful with the other car (which is a sports car) as it has a top opening boot and the opening is only small. I can have baby face me or away from me depending on needs. The seat lies back flat (which was great when he was a newborn) middle and sits up (which suits us now he sits alone) It has a aluminium chassis making it light to lift and holds no dirt. Its easy to steer and turns easily with no dramas. The handle height is adjustable depending on your activity and the person using the pram. The main downfalls I find is that the harness isnt easy to make smaller and that the foot cover was difficult to push on with buttons. Im also not keen on the material used on the inside lining of the pram. Ive taken it on all terrains including bush walking and have always found it easy to use. I purchased mine in July 2006 and have found it better than earlier models of the Rebel. At the time of purchase I looked at a lot of prams and was willing to spend up to $700. Ive been happy with this pram and Im still not in any rush to replace it with a stroller.

Summary: Very cumbersome
March 28th, 2007
This pram comes with a bassinet option and a toddler seat option. I found it wonderful to have the bassinet when bubs was little but now that he is older (6 months) I'm finding the pram a little difficult.

It is extremely heavy and bulky to get in and out of the car. With both the bassinet and the seat options you need to remove the bassinette/seat and place that in the boot and then collapse the frame down and put that in the boot along side the seat. The frame is very heavy also. We have a Commodore Berlina, which has a huge boot, but with this pram in the boot there is no room for anything else. If you had a station wagon or similar and didn't have to separate the seat from the frame it might be better.

It manoeuvres well, but is very heavy - almost impossible to manoeuvre with one hand if you need to hold bubs and push. It is great for going walking or jogging, or if you know you're going to be shopping for a while, but I ended up buying another pram for those quick trips to the shops. There is nothing quick about using this pram, LOL!

The seat doesn't lay down flat, so although you can use a toddler seat I don't see how a newborn could be comfortable and safe laying in the seat section.

The main selling point for me was that you could turn both the seat and the bassinet to either face you or face out. I like this idea very much. In hindsight now, I would have purchased another Valco pram (the Runabout).

Summary: Valco the Heavy Prammy!
March 28th, 2007
My friend has this pram and I often use this to babysit her kids....and my gosh what a debacle this one can be....its heavy, very heavy, and wants to go its own way all the time. add to that its also large in every dimension and you can get stuck in places where its a squeeze..and forget taking it into shops because you cant get it through most shops....its a nightmare pram for indoors...but outdoors its ok...you really have to plan where you will be in 1 minute so you can move pram in direction according to obstacles....but its durable so thats a plus....its a thumbs down for me.
