I can't believe there is no review for this, as far as I am concerned the MacPac range of carriers are the gold standard for carrying bubs during outdoor activities.

It's for older bubs (4mths up? not exactly sure but good head control is a must) and is made by MacPac who specialise in backpacks, not child carriers, so the system is super comfy and the majority of weight is carried through your hips not your shoulders/ back. It will carry to about age 3 so you get quite a long period of use - mind you I'd start to find it too heavy by them I think.

We have gone away without the stroller and used this and we have all been very happy, my son loves it and gets excited everytime he sees it out.

I bought mine 'as new' on ebay as they are pretty pricey - but they last forever and hold their resale value well.

Baby is securely strapped in and additional features include a sun shelter and rain cover - both of which I'd recommend if you plan to walk outside for long. With the sun shelter on my son often falls asleep and we have walked in the cold and rain and he has been as snug as a bug.

I am always stopped by people asking about it and commenting on how happy he looks. We use it to experience things that are hard to do with strollers - ie train rides, bus trips, walks around museums, as well as decent walks on beach, out bush etc

 It even comes with a mirror to check what bub is up to.
