Summary: ergo the way to go
October 21st, 2008

I was recommended the ergo by two of my friends and I can say that I have no regrets for this purchase. Both my husband and I have used it for my 9month old son from birth, and I'm sure we'll use it for a long time yet.

Very comfortable to wear, we have used it front and back but not hip as of yet. It is cotton so good for when the weather heats up. But, also keeps bub cozy during colder months as they are close and their bodies covered. Love it, and most importantly my bub loves it!

Summary: I love my ERGO!
April 18th, 2008

I bought an ERGO for my DS after being told about them by a friend and I COULDN'T RECCOMEND IT MORE!!

My DH and I have tried many other carriers which we found uncomfortable or cumbersome, but the ERGO ticked all the boxes for us. It is fully adjustable so both he and I can wear it, it's so comfortable as it has the wide waist belt which means you don't get a sore back, neck or shoulders, and DS loves it!! We've been using it since he was about 4 months old and he's now 4 and a half so it has defintiely lasted well.

It's so easy to wash too, and so good for baby. I tried the bjorn for a while but it was so uncomfortable and I was worried about my son hanging from his crotch which I'd heard could put pressure on the spine and damage their joints. With the ERGO he's fully supported and I don't have to worry! Great for going shopping - so much easier than a pram - or even around the house just hanging out the washing when he's in a fussy mood and wants to be held :) There really is not a bad word I could say about it, and it has been a lifesaver on our various flights and holidays. Even the price was great compared to a hard frame backpack or even a baby bjorn which will only last you max of 12 months, the ERGO is brilliantly affordable.

 I LOVE my ERGO!!!

Summary: Comfy for all
February 21st, 2008
Buying an Ergo has been the best thing for our family. Our second child likes to be close to us constantly and with a 2 year old to look after we needed a comfy easy to use sling.

We tried the Baby bjorn which hurt both Dp and my backs, the fisher price carrier and then dicovered the Ergo.It was a little hard to get used to for the first few days.Especially the infant insert which takes some working out,and doing the buckle up at the back requires flexibility. After we had that sorted all of us a very comfy.

My favourite feature is that you can swaddle a new baby and place them in the insert. So if you have to put bubs down they are still snug and don't startle. We can also carry our 2 year old in the same carrier easily.

Summary: Highly recommended
January 11th, 2008
I previously had a baby bjorn and would recommend this carrier above it every time. The Ergo is much more supportive for the parent wearing it. If you've got it on properly it won't drag your shoulders down and it doesn't hurt your back.

It can take a bit of getting used to, especially learning to do the behind your shoulders clip up on your own, but after a few times, you learn where to leave the clip settings so it's most comfortable for you.

I bought mine when junior was 7 months old and I wish I'd had it sooner.

Summary: perfection!!
December 11th, 2007
I've had my ergo for about two months now - and still love it!!

It's very easy to use, especially if you are the only person using it, and don't have to keep adjusting straps. I use mine for quick trips to the supermarket, as well as the longer walks and shopping trips that we all have at some stage in the week!

It's very easy to clean - just throw it in the washing machine, and then hang on the line to dry. The shoulder straps are very supportive, and the whole carrier is very light weight. Priced at around $140, it may be pricey for some, but has a long life of considerable use ahead of it, so I feel that it's great value for money.

Summary: The PERFECT carrier
December 10th, 2007
This is a fabulous carrier. The best out there in my opinion.

Perhaps the biggest selling points, are that it can be worn on your front, back, or side, and it can be worn from birth (after purchasing the infant insert - which is used until baby can hold her own head steadily) to toddlerhood - I'm still carrying my 16kg 2-year-old daughter in it.

It does cost a bit - around $150 - but considering it lasts so many years, and can be passed down to future children, AND can be resold on auction sites for close to the purchase price... it really is worth it.

It also comes with a little zipper pocket to place some keys/money in (not big enough for much else), as well as a hood you can put over baby's head when they're sleeping so they don't fall backwards or whatever. It can also be used to make breastfeeding in the Ergo more discrete.

You can also buy a few different attachments - a backpack that attaches to the back of it so you can put nappies/sippy cups/etc in there. I did find though, that using mine wasn't a good idea with my 16kg toddler, as it just increased the weight, and had it further away from my body, making it difficult to carry.

Another attachment I've used is the pouch. It's quite small, but can hold a purse, phone and keys (depending on size of course). It's good if you've got baby on the back and need to access these things quickly. I wouldn't buy it though... quite expensive for what is actually is.

The waist extension allows me to wear my daughter more comfortably too (and also allows me to enjoy that burger without worrying about whether or not the Ergo will fit tomorrow! lol). It's really reasonably priced too - about $15.

A big plus is that it supports the thigh, and not just the crotch (as with other structured carriers). Unlike those carriers, which can result in spinal damage, the Ergo is quite healthy for your baby or toddler to sit in. If their legs aren't long enough to sit in it properly, you can simply fold their legs up inside the ergo.

Perhaps the biggest con for me is that I can't seem to figure out the hip position - despite watching videos and such. Whenever I'm out, I forget how to do it... though I know many others manage to, so maybe I'm just a bit unco.
