Summary: exellent well worth the $$$
August 15th, 2008

We have recently returned from a stay at Paradise Resort and it sure lives up to its name....it is a Paradise for parents and children. The kids club is fantasic, rooms good and all of the pools are heated in winter so you can still swim. We joined the Paradse club through there web site and they often send me deals where you can get a room for $118 per night per family which is 2 adults 3 kids. Kids stay and play free. We will go there again for sure and i dont think you could get better value for money.

Yes agree with other review that the SIZZLER style eatery was a bit pricey but with the kids in the kids club why not go somewhere romantic and special with hubby/wife....we did, and kids club will call you up if they need you.

My kids would also give it a 10 out of 10

Summary: Best for Families on GC!!
March 27th, 2008
A really fantastic resort for families with school aged children. We have been back twice in 7 months and are planning to make it an annual trip! The rooms are a good size with a balcony, air conditioning, fridge for drinks, some rooms with a sink for bottle washing and a bathroom with bath & shower. A short drive from the Gold Coast airport or there is a shuttle service that picks you up and drops you off at their front door! (we used this twice and it cant be beaten!) All booked through the resort so no hassles. The kids club is a 10 out of 10! Absolutely brilliant! The older kids had 2 free sessions per day and the 0-4 age group had one. A real treat to let Mum & Dad have some much needed time out or a shopping trip or a childfree meal. The pics on the website dont do this place justice, its lovely! There are 4 pools and a spa. A bar & shop onsite for little things you need and Coles is a 5-10 min walk up the road! (really great if your on a budget). Its within walking distance of the beach (2 blocks) and all the shops. Also a buffet style restaurant and a take away style cafe that does nice meals at a reasonable price. Kids meals are all $5 so really good value. The bus stops out the front for the Theme parks so no need to spend a fortune on the shuttle service for that! A short drive to Seaworld & the Australia Fair shopping centre. A really nice place with friendly helpful staff, we cant wait to go back! So relaxing we never want to leave! Highly recommended!

Summary: gr8 4 kids & parents 2!

Just over an hours drive from Brisbane, traffic was good for us, we went on a Sunday afternoon.

Rooms are old, but well-maintained. Microwave, sink and fridge in the room, with plates, glasses, cutlery, kettle, toaster.

A well stocked shop is on site, but can be pricey... there's a servo nearby if the shop runs out (apparently bread is a big one)

There is a sizzler-style restaurant that can get pricey over an extended period, and a coffee shop style "bistro" with good cheap lunch meals available. Breakfast is available as a all-you-can-eat buffet - we didn't find this out until we had eaten cereal in our room for two days!

My kids loved the kids club. Our package included two free sessions for the big kids (6 & 9), and 1 session per day for bub (who was 6mths old at the time, and neither of us felt able to leave her) The staff were friendly, and great with the kids... and meals are available during the session, so we were able to eat a meal without the usual battles!!

There is a day spa for parents - it's on my wish list to try if we ever go again! There are a range of activities organised each day, both resort-based, and tours, etc. There are at least three pools - a shallow wading pool for the littlies, a bigger pool for confident swimmers, and a deep pool that the water slide runs into - and a spa that was being worked on when we were there.

We felt that the price was reasonable - we are a family of three children and two adults, so we paid roughly $240 per night... the kids had a room separate from us, with a door that closed - but it was where the air conditioner was, so we didn't actually close the door!

Our stay was for three nights, and we enjoyed it - we had the break that we needed, at a time when we were ready to fall apart!!

Writing this review has made me realise that we probably will visit paradise resort again, as it has all we need for a short break close to home!
