I bought the latest edition of this book earlier this year (2008) and found it a fantastic guide during my pregnancy. Whenever I had a question about something, I just looked it up and was able to find answers and extra information. It is set out month by month so you get an idea of what to expect during the month you're up to. There aren't many pictures so if you want pictures, then don't buy this book. 

I was even referring back to the book while I was in labour and still at home so I knew what stage I was up to and what to expect and I have used it for various problems even after giving birth.

It was written by an American but parts have been modified for Australian readers and I found all the information to be up to date and relevant. 

Just a tip too... If you want the best value for money, buy the version that has 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' and 'What to Eat When You're Expecting' in the one book. The two books in one costs the same price as just the first book on it's own. Otherwise, I think Big W was the cheapest for the book on it's own. 

I borrowed this from the library and I'm just glad I didn't bother buying it!

It seemed very old fashioned (despite being a very recent edition) and seemed like it was more for the USA than Australia.  I didn't like the format this book was in, it doesn't have any photographs and basically i think the dodgy front cover illustration kind of sums up the book..
