It might be convenient - but it's not that accurate.  We found it can vary: 3 readings taken one immediately after the other varied by up to 1.8 degrees.  That's the difference between having a problem and having peace of mind.  Remember: the purpose of taking a temp is to decide what to do.  This doesn't help you with that.

I absolutely love this forehead thermometer. I was given it as a baby shower present and I use it all the time. It is accurate, simple and easy to use and my baby loves getting his temp checked now - he just holds his head still and looks at the screen.

We have this forehead thermometer too and love it. We have had the chance to compare it to several others while overseas (Tip:don't forget to take one on holidays ;-).. )and this is definitely the most baby friendly one! You place it on bubs forehead and when done (< 10 secs) it plays a little "jingle". Our baby loves it and will sit perfectly still in anticipation of the jingle, and then "dances" to the music with a big smile... ;-)..bliss. This also means you can take the temperature 2 or 3 times in a short period, to give yourself peace of mind that you measured it correctly. Seems to be more accurate than some of the others I tried (esp hard to be accurate if you're fighting a crying baby to keep the thermometer in her ear etc...)

This thermometer is fantastic! We found it so easy to use and so much nicer than trying to stick a thermometer under bub's arm or elsewhere. It was one of the cheapest forhead thermometers we found and make sure you go to Big W to buy it cause they had it cheaper than any baby store or chemist we found. You also don't need to keep buying covers like you do for the in ear thermometer so that cuts out an extra expense.

It stores up to 30 temps, takes the temp in about 3 seconds and can have info displayed on screen and also spoken aloud (the voice can be muted too). It seems to be really accurate and is so easy to use. It's definitely worth spending a little extra to get this type of thermometer.
