I did a heap of research when I was pregnant and ended up investing in 12 of these as I planned to go cloth "part time". Having also bought standard fitteds off eBay and these, I found these to be far superior, with only one leakage when the velcro wasn't done up properly (i.e. human rather than product error!). I have now ditched the standard fitteds and am buying another 4 of these. My son is now on to the middle setting of these and even with big poos or wees (which he is GREAT at) we have had no trouble. Maintenance is easy - I dry pail and wash every second day, after 5 months of use I am yet to have staining, velcros lose grip or any pilling. Drying time is fantastic - even on the colder days - outers dry almost immediately in a warm room, inserts do take longer, but can be tumbledried or else stock up on spare inserts. On my son the fit isn't that trim - esp when compared to disposables. Then again he is more on the "lean" side and so I have put this down to his build. It does mean we have to make sure clothes he wears when using one of these have enough room for this nappy. I also find he is more "active" when nappy free or in a disposable, which is a slight concern considering his age and developmental stage (rolling, pre-crawling) Unfortunately we don't use these overnight so can't comment on absorbency for this. Despite the trimness I would highly recommend this nappy to anyone looking for a MCN solution that is easy and lasts.

I've been using these for about a month and am very happy with my purchase. I researched modern cloth nappies for months before my baby arrived, and chose the one size pocket nappy for cost benefit since one size should fit for a long time, and for ease of use and washing and drying.. The nappies have three sizes that can be adjusted as my baby grows. I'm currently using the smallest setting and it fits my boy beautifully. Very trim fit. I've had no poo explosions yet! I can stuff the pocket with one layer for daytime use, and two layers lasts him all night, up to 10 hours. The microfleece inside is very soft and stays dry, and the outer cover is waterproof and comes in different colours. Washing is very easy, the nappies and microfibre inserts dry very quickly. I'm drypailing and the nappies dont seem to stain very easily. So far I'm very happy I went with this nappy, have been doing more research and I think that this seems like the easiest nappy to use. The price is also very good - I paid about $25 per nappy that incuded 2 inserts. Compared to some of the other popular brands you pay that much for the nappy and again for the cover, and boosters and liners are extra. This system includes everything in one package. The fit is also very good compared even to disposables. A hint on cloth wipes, I got some lovely bamboo that were very expensive, I then bought some cheap terry facewashers from Big W for 1/3 price that are almost as good!
UPDATE: 6 months on My son is now 7 months old and we still love our bumgenuis! In the last 6 months I think I may have used maybe 2 bulk packs of disposable nappies, so I must say the best thing is now much cheaper MCN are! as for leaks/explosions, we've had a few, but have also had them with disposables on as well. I drypail and line dry and don't have any issues with stains. I use the nappies with a hemp booster and microfibre insert over night and they last 12-13 hrs no worries. They are a little bulkier than disposables but not enough to notice. Many friends are surprised when I tell them he has a cloth nappy on. Have noticed new bright colours are here so may have to get some newies for summer!!! PS Dad loves them too, and is happy to takover washing and stuffing when he becomes a stay at home dad in a few months.
