Summary: Superb pram
July 30th, 2008
If I could go back in time and purchase a pram prior to my son's birth, knowing what I know now, I would still buy this one.  It's been fantastic.  I have a larger than average baby and he still has loads of room in it.  I had a c-section so it is great having a pram that can fold and open with no effort required. It turns with one finger! I have tried pushing all sorts of other prams but none compare to this one.  If it were a little lighter it would be perfect. Worth every cent. Highly recommended.

Summary: Fantastic!
March 29th, 2008
I love my mountain buggy! I did a lot of research before choosing it and although it was expensive, it is definitely worth every cent. It's so easy to push (even with one hand) in shops, on footpaths, over gutters, even on sand! Ok, so sand is a bit of a challenge if it's not wet, but it's possible. I'm tall, so the adjustable handle is great and I don't have to bend over at all to reach it. It is really easy to fold up and it is actually one of the lightest 3 wheel prams on the market - that's why I chose it (I have a bad back). It also came with a nappy bag that I thought was too small, but it's actually a fantastic nappy bag - we still use it and my ds is 14 1/2 months old!

It is frustrating that it is about 2cm wider than most checkout aisles at supermarkets & shops, but I'm getting used to the disabled/pram aisle. The accessories are expensive, but the storm & sunshades are fantastic! Unfortunately there isn't a great option for a 2nd child (kiddy board is the only option) and that is a problem for a lot of people. There is no storage on the handle for keys, water bottle, mobile, etc, which is a little annoying, but I bought a generic brand one that velcros over the handle easily.

The UE is a great pram for newborns through to the older toddler. It turns beautifully and is very comfortable for the bub to travel in. It is quick and easy to put down.

Cons:

Heavy/ awkward to lift into car

Wide so not great for shopping aisles

Accessories cost a fortune- e.g. Travel bag $175

Even though there are a few negatives, I feel happy with the buggy and would recommend it.

Summary: Fantasic pram
September 24th, 2007
This a great pram for active people. Highly recommended. I find myself walking to the shops and dong it all with this pram as it is so easy to walk, run and go off road with. Heaps of storage. Very durable, my hubby thinks our grand kids will be in it. He used a punture gel to counter any problems with the tyres going down. The downsides are it is heavy and cumbersome to put in the car. If you're not active their would be lighter prams but this would be the toughest.

the only negative is going through supermarket aisles - you need to use the 1 or 2 disabled lanes which are never open!

Summary: I love MB Elite!
August 1st, 2007
I love the MB Elite. My baby is 6 months old now the pram itself is still as good as new. It is so easy to manoeuvre and really does have 1 finger turning (ideal if you're walking home with a takeaway coffee!)

I walk regularly and it is very easy to switch from footpaths to more rough terrain.

Newborns can use it from birth and as the back rest has free positioning, you can easily adjust it from flat to sitting up so baby can sleep or look out, even in the same outing!

It is 10kgs so definitely not as light as some of the other strollers on the market, but it is easy to put up and down with 1 quick action. I have a golf and it fits easily in the boot (though admittedly, going away for the weekend means that the back seat holds most of the other luggage.)

My only complaint would be that you may have line up at the disabled or express checkout queues in most supermarket.

All in all though, I wouldn't have anything else and think it is well worth spending the $$.

Summary: Mountain Buggy Urban Elit
March 28th, 2007
I've had the Mountain Buggy Urban Elite for about 6 months and found it to be a great 3 wheeler. I live in a county town without many footpaths, and it handles the rough surfaces fantastically. I walk with it for at least an hour everyday, and so far it is holding up well. - although I have had about 5 punctures. I finally fixed the problem by purchasing thorn proof tubes - a must if you are off road a lot. I bought the carry cot attachment, but only used it for the first 8 weeks - if I had my time again I wouldn't bother.as the MB is suitable for newborns. It is relatively light for a 3 wheeler, very easy to collapse and fits in to the boot of my little Mazda 2 hatchback. On the downside, I have not found it great to take out shopping as it is quite wide, and although it easy to manoeuvere, it is still large, which can make it tricky to fit in to lifts etc. In the end I bought a Maclaren Vogue stroller for shopping, which is been perfect for trips to the shop. Overall, I would highly recommend the Mountain Buggy Urban Elite, if you do lots of walking. It is well designed and well made.

This pram is excellent - very light in the steering. I've pushed other friends prams and couldn't believe how easy the MB was compared to theirs! A little wide for some shops, and I find I have to use the wheelchair access in some department stores and supermarkets.

This is a breeze to fold up and down with 2 clips that release and it folds in one movement. Equally easy to erect - with one hand and a foot!

I believe it's one of the lightest jogger style prams on the market at around 10 kgs.

It's got a basket that's a fair size - bigger than other brands of pram (I've had it full so many times!!). Also has side pockets, a space for the pump and a zip pocket which is really handy for keys/museli bars and my phone!

I did heaps of research prior to 'investing' in a pram. I asked friends who had MB's and they all agreed it was value for money, including one friend who's just had number 3 and still with the same MB! I purchased mine in NZ and saved about 40% on the price.

After investing in a relatively expensive pram, I was pleased that there were a few freebies such as the pump, nappy bag and cushioned seat mat. I purchased the hand rail, and the sun and wind shades, again, all in NZ as they were half price or less than the price in Aust (not even taking into account the exchange rate!) . I believe there is a sleeping sack attachment amongst others and a skateboard for toddler use.

Overall I'm so happy with my MB and many of my mother's group buddies have said they wished they bought one. Yes, it costs a little more than the average pram, but a lot less than some others. As a daily walker (and a fast one at that!), it keeps up with me and doesn't trip or stop on raised footpaths or potholes etc. My son is in it every day, it's very safe and durable, there's plenty of storage and I plan on using it for the next one. If I had one negative about the pram it would be the foot brake is a little difficult to release when you only have sandels or thongs on. I'd highly recommend taking one for a 'test drive' or borrow a friends if you can, you won't regret it!.
