Summary: Very effective
February 9th, 2008
I tried various pumps with my first child and was never able to express anything worth keeping.I tried the Ameda pump and it was so easy and effective.I use it now with my second child and I love the fact that I can pump one side while feeding her on the other as it is so quiet.I do find that the nobs to control suction and cycles are a little hard to turn while juggling baby and pump, but have no problem when pumping both sides at once.I also have a white spot(milk bleb)this time and find that it this pump does not hurt at all as it is so gentle.

Summary: Fantastic pump!
September 11th, 2007
The Ameda is lightweight, easy as anything to use, and a breeze to clean.

I used this pump many times when Bub was just born, for a number of reasons. I bought it over the Medela because you don't have to wash the tubing on the Ameda, just the funnel thing and the valve connected to it. Super duper easy.

in addition, while in hospital, I used a Medela, or tried to use one, and it didn't suck nearly as well. Plus it was bigger and bulkier.

I must admit that even after using it a bunch of times, I never needed to adjust that much to use all the adjustments it offers. Found a speed & suction that worked, and just kept it pretty much on that.

I also never used it for both breasts at once. I'm simply not that coordinated, especially when sleep deprived! But even one at a time, pumping was super easy and quick and allowed me to keep feeding Bub. marfieonline
