I borrowed this pump from my sis who said it didn't work for her but it worked a TREAT for me! I used the electric pump in the hospital and this is just as easy and good. Its portable small and easy to use! My sister gave it to me with heaps of extra containers and bits and bobs which was great. There are also not too many pieces so cleaning isn't a hassle. It does get squeeky sometimes tho!

I used the electric pump from the hospital but when I got home and realised that I needed one I bought one of these as it looked really comfortable and wasn't overly priced. It is great I love Avent and would recommend to anyone considering to hire a pump to buy this instead as they are just as good. Great for sterlising, especially if you have the Avent one (I use the micorwave which has special slots to fit the pump in). A great product to use can't stress enough how much I love this.

I love this breast pump! I bought mine second hand and it is still going strong. I found it to be gentle, especially on my cracked nipples. I had so much milk I didn't really have to pump that much - just hold the handle in and the milk just flowed into the pump.
As far as manual pumps go, I think this one is a great buy. Easy to use and easy to clean/reassemble. Highly recommended.

I love this breast pump!
Although it takes longer than the electric one I used in hospital (obviously), it is just as effective. It does not hurt my nipples like the electric one and you can control the pressure. Very easy to take apart, sterilise and reasemble, and comes with spare parts in the box. Because it's so small, it is easy to take out and express-in the car etc. The whole Avent range fits on the pump, and you can get disposable cups and lids to freeze your EBM in. The only downside I found was that if I bumped the massaging silicone bit, I would loose suction and have to reattach it. But that is simple anyway!

What a great breast pump! Easy to use and take apart for sterilising. It is a great price without it costing well into the $200+ price range. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a manual pump.

I'm very happy with this pump - I initially started out with an electric pump from another brand and had to replace it with this product after I dropped it and broke it. But I'm glad that I did because I've found this to be easier to use and doesn't cause trauma to my nipples. I also like the fact that it's quiet. The only downside is that I can see myself losing the small parts, but there are spares in the box which is impressive!

WIth my first son, I used an electric, not this brand, which I found to be quite painful and made my nipples sore. With my next son, I went straight out and bought the Avent. It is so comfortable and I found I relaxed more easily than with the buzzing sound of an electric pump (and the manual doesn't wake the baby). It is a bit hard to put together when you are bone tired, so make sure your sterilizing routine is up to the minute and set it up in advance as far as possible so you can hop straight to it if you have to in the middle of the night.

I have been exclusively expressing for my 10 week old bubba (Lily) since she was born due to latching difficulties, and hired the Medela Symphony once I left the hospital. About 3 weeks ago I reluctantly tried the Avent Isis Manual pump convinced that it couldn't do the same job as the electric hospital grade - but was extremely suprised!
The Avent Isis worked at removing just as much milk only downside is it takes me about 15-20 minutes to empty both breasts as upposed to 10 minutes on Medela. I only express 4 times per day and get approx 300ml per expressing session. It's portabliity is great and I can even do it in the car if we are out. Once my let down has occured I need only hold the depressed handle and the milk keeps flowing - so no hand cramps. Massaging your boobs whilst expressing also helps to empty them.

I have been using the Avent Isis pump for every feed for the past 4weeks, and I highly recommend it, its easy to use, it all comes apart for cleaning, and the whole thing can be sterilised, it came with spare parts and bottles and teats, the one handed action is easy to use, and my hand has never gotten tired, i've been having to express every feed and I have not noticed much of a difference between using the hospital electric pump and this pump, just a little bit of a time difference (hand pump takes longer)

My hubby was determined to buy me a breastpump to use with our 2nd child and came back from the chemist with this one. I found it very easy to use, easy to clean and small enough to take on holidays.
There are some small parts that you do need to watch you don't loose (ie down the sink), but the box came with some spares, which I thought was fantastic.

I love this pump, as I only really use it to pump excess morning milk fir future feeds. Very easy to use.

I expressed for 5 months exlusively and around the clock for my first born and I used the avent isis for this... it was quite good but doesnt compare to an electric one
With so much use I ended up getting hand cramps! Not fun! It was relatively easily to sterilize but putting it all back together was fiddly as there are a few parts to it The silicone petal insert I found fantastic at helping let down though, my milk flowed sooo nicely with its help! For occasional use i think its fantastic, for increasing supply or topup feeds, even better if you get the 'back to work' kit which has a lovely storage bag with it also but its not that great for fulltime use.

I have only used the hospital one apart from this one- so bear that in mind.
Using it for frequent pumping (more than about 2x per day) will give you really good hand muscles. It was also rather time consuming for me - being a manual pump. It seemed to have lots of parts and they did give me an extra set in the box. Having said that the parts are good quality. The silicone parts were the first to show wear and tear after 6 weeks of pumping 4x a day. It is compatible with all the other Avent products and fits particularly well in the electric steriliser when dismantled
