Summary: Love it!!!
November 18th, 2008

This is a fantastic pram. It took us 4 hours to choose between it and an Emalunga, and we chose this mainly due to the steering.

It is a bit heavy if trying to lift it in one piece, however it easily comes apart into 2 (and then each section weighs less than an umbrella stroller!). The seat section fits on it's side at the child's feet behind the front seats of the car, so it is not a problem in taking up all the boot space. It is lite - weight to steer, and easily steered using only one hand. The handle takes all the shopping with no interference with your gait, or sterring.

I agree with the comments about the toddler seat, and it is cumbersome to fold with the toddler seat in place, however once the younger child is wanting to see more the toddler can sit in the front of the carriage as it is so long. It honestly doesn't make manourvering any more difficult (you don't feel like your are pushing 25 plus Kgs at all.

My 3 year old can still comfortably sleep in the carriage and I carry the infant on my front when we are having along day in town.

We live on a property and we bought it for the cross country driving as it is more stable on 4 wheels than 3. We brought an umbrella stroller for town, but I prefer to take the Bidwell as it is weightless to steer, even with a baby and a 15 kg toddler and all the shopping. the umbrella is awkward as you can't push them one handed and browse or carry a shopping basket etc.

It is heavy duty and we only do a grease up when it gets particularly dirty, and each year we fill the tyres with Blu-goo / Green Slime so I never have had a flat tyre yet. I had a problem with the brake and it was fixed and back within 1 week under warrenty. I had to buy a new wheel and that was cheaper than getting the damaged one fixed (wear and tear on rough terrain after 3 years)

They sell so cheaply on ebay that is criminal given how good and hard wearing this model is.

Can't recommend it enough, and we always take it when we go anywhere now as it is as manourveable as an smaller stroller with all the comfort and ease.

plenty of room in the metal absket underneath also!

Summary: Fantastic Walking/All Day
August 2nd, 2007
Fantastic for walking, using as a portable basinet around the house (given space), and great for days when you are going to be out for several hours - very comfy for the little one. Our pram is now nearly 5 years old and we did have a problem with one of the back wheels, but overall this has been an excellent pram. My view was always that I would need a cheaper lighter stroller for the car boot (shopping etc), so I was not concerned about the weight. Don't really rate the toddler seat as value for money for same reasons other reviewers have noted. Much safer option that the three wheelers - won't topple over as they can so easily if the front wheel goes over a bump the wrong way. Love it.

Summary: I love my Bertini Bidwell
June 4th, 2007
I love my Bidwell and wouldn't be without it. While we were in hospital when I had PND (5 weeks from 6 weeks post partum) Katie slept in her Bidwell pram. (We had the hard-frame bassinette which is no longer available.) Although it is an enormous beastie and you need a huge boot, it is a stable, sturdy and marvellous pram to use.

It steers like a dream and offers a smooth and comfortable ride. When we went to watch my hubby umpire football, I stupidly stood behind the goals (though a fair distance back.) The ball came flying through at alarming speed, and slammed into the side of the pram where Katie (aged 4 months) slept. It bounced off with equal force, almost ending up back on the oval, but the pram barely rocked and Katie slept on!

The toddler seat is no good if the rear child is over 6 months, since their face is centimetres from the backrest of the toddler seat. So you'll need to get a litaf seat or something similar. Otherwise its a great pram.

Summary: Great Pram
April 4th, 2007
A great pram, although it is on the heavy side. Lots of room for bub, good for bumby paths and is excellent for turning. Daddy loved pushing this pram around. Lots of storage room and basket is made of metal so can take a heavy load. A solid and sturdy pram that goes from newborn till child outgrows it.

Summary: Great walking pram
March 27th, 2007
This pram is great for newborns and toddlers but wouldn't go beyond that. It is very easy to push but is VERY big and needs a large boot!

It comes with a raincover, bootcover, snuggle bed and pump.

The 4 wheel drive steering is unmatched.

Baby can face you or away from you.

it also takes a toddler seat but is only suitable when the baby in the main pram unis is approx 0-6 months, after that you'd need to change pram or use a skateboard instead.

The storage underneath the pram is unmatched also plenty of space to store anything you could ever need!

Heavy to get in the boot though, espec when pregnant.. I had to buy a lightweight stroller when I was pregnant as this was physically impossible for me to get in and out of the boot!
