The baby/babies have finally arrived - but there's no manual! There's feeding, sleeping, settling, changing, clothing, yourself, your partner, the family, the house - all to think about. But don't despair, there are local services and shops available to help you with all of these things.
You can employ midwives and mothercraft nurses to come to your home and help you with settling techniques and early parenting skills, lactation consultants to help you with feeding, you can call 24 hour parenting telephone helplines and you can even get your nappies, groceries and other goods delivered straight to you door! And that's just for starters, there are also baby masseurs, postnatal masseurs, counsellors to help with postnatal depression, 'sleep-makers', nappy launderers, resource centres, nannies...the list goes on.
We've got links here to all the relevant shops and services available to you in your local region together with product reviews from parents to help you avoid expensive mistakes. In some cases we have whole pages dedicated to services and information, in others, we've got great links below to invaluable external information sources. Please note that links to external sites will open up a new browser window.
Enjoy this time and do accept offers of help!
