"Preggie-brain" may mean that you are likely to forget things, so keep this list handy and make sure that you don't miss out on important deadlines, appointments and things to do!

Calculate your due date
Book an appointment with your GP to get referrals for blood tests/ultrasound
Start researching local maternity hospitals & birth centres
Sign-up for the week-by-week pregnancy email guide
Find out what foods you should avoid – and what foods you SHOULD include
Investigate your maternity leave entitlements
Join a 'when are you due' birth group
Have your Nuchal Translucency Scan around 12 weeks
Start thinking about baby names
Strengthen your pelvic floor
Read our newborn essential shopping list - for tips on buying nursery equipment
Have a browse around your local baby shop
Check with your OB/doctor whether it is safe to do some pregnancy exercise
Indulge in some stylish maternity clothes
Buy a pregnancy pillow and/or other body support and health products
Book yourself into an antenatal & birth preparation class (might seem early, but they do get booked up)
Explore employing a birth attendant or doula or a hypnobirthing specialist
Get fitted for a maternity bra
Put your name down at local childcare centres or nanny agencies (waiting lists can be huge!)
Have your Morphology scan – around 20 weeks
Treat yourself to a pregnancy massage or pregnancy retreat / weekend
Have a baby shower!
Book a 3d / 4d ultrasound scan services
Have your baby safety capsule fitted into your car (you need it for that first trip home from the hospital)
Pack your hospital bag
Read up on using modern cloth nappies (mcns) and reviews of mcns and disposable nappies
Prepare your older children - have a plan for them while you’re in labour
Stock up the freezer and organise to have your groceries home delivered
Read up on cord blood donation
Organise a birth announcement service
Print out the newborn to do list
