The new Huggies – 3D Ultra Absorb: tested by Bub Hub members

Huggies – 3D Ultra AbsorbNappy changing did NOT come naturally to me when my first was born.

In fact, the midwife kind of laughed at my partner and I as we struggled to dress our son after he was weighed aged 6 days. “Does it take two of you to put on a nappy?” she asked with a raised eyebrow and a slight smile before giving us some much-needed tips on tackling the task with just two hands.

My point is that life with a newborn can be a steep, sleep-deprived, learning curve and anything that makes life a little bit easier is extremely welcome in those first weeks.

Huggies has made life a little easier with the new Revolutionary 3D Ultra Absorb* Layer in the newborn nappies. The soft absorbent layer draws runny newborn poo away from baby’s skin, minimising spread within the nappy and leaving your bub’s bum cleaner and drier.

I don’t have a newborn to test this theory on (not yet, anyway) so we sent some samples out to some Bub Hub mums to see what they thought …

“I tested these nappies on my 7-week-old baby boy Jake. It was great timing as he’s on medication for reflux, which has given him a bit of diarrhoea. The new improved version always held and absorbed everything, no matter how large or explosive it was – I was really impressed! It made things easier at change time too as the mess actually absorbs better into the nappy so there’s no chance of it going everywhere when you’re changing bub. Also, I found the inner lining softer than the original version which I would prefer if I was a baby! Overall, I was really impressed and wouldn’t recommend any other brand to a new parent.” Kelley Irvine – Mum to Jake, 7 weeks.

“I have only been using them for a couple of days but so far we’ve had no leakages out the sides. I found that it didn’t ‘absorb’ the poo into the nappy in the way that I was imagining – it kind of turns the poo into a liquid gel type consistency so it’s not so runny. The best thing about them is that most of the poo sticks to the nappy and not baby’s skin. So you only need one wipe to clean baby’s bottom (or can wipe clean with the nappy itself if you run out of wipes).”  – Natasha Salanitri

“Just writing to let you know my thoughts about the new Revolutionary 3D Ultra Absorb Layer Huggies nappies I was able to trial. I have found them to be very good for my baby’s skin, especially when he poos! They absorb a lot better than the normal Huggies and leave his skin less red and much cleaner.” – Aleksandra

“We found the nappies to be rather dry still after our daughter peed and absorbed her poo more so than we found with previous nappies, as expected. The nappies didn’t have any leakage.” – Fiona Williams
