Bambi and I, we go way back. For most of my young life a beautiful painting of Bambi and his rabbit pal Thumper held pride of place on my bedroom wall.
It was painted by my talented mother and to this day I still feel guilty when I recall the day I asked her to take it down. I was 10 years old (going on 16) and I’d decided that I was “too grown up” for Bambi. For shame.
Of course, I realise now that you’re never too old for Bambi and I’ve also found the perfect Mother’s Day gift for Mum – something that will hopefully remind her that I wasn’t a brat for TOO long. Sorry Mum …
Disney has teamed up with Australian fashion designer Arabella Ramsay to create a gorgeous limited-edition sleepwear collection for Mother’s Day – inspired by my friend, the classic Disney character Bambi. The Bambi sleepwear collection is available exclusively at Target.
They sent me a sample from the new collection to try out so I’ve put them to the test – seeing if they’re up to the task of being the well-used PJs of a stay-at-home mum!
Test One: Hanging out the Washing
Have you ever had one of those days when almost every item of clothing is dirty? When this happens (and it happens at LOT when you’re me) you’re forced to stay in your PJs till at least some of your regular clothes are dry. Luckily if you’re wearing the Forest Friends Floral PJ then you won’t mind. I love these PJs – they are very comfy and so so soft.

Test Two: Checking the Mailbox
And then there are the days when you really don’t have an excuse for still being in your PJs at 11.30am. I can’t speak for all SAHM/WAHMs but this does happen to me more than it should. I often get halfway up our driveway before I realise I’m in pyjamas and instead of turning back I make the rest of the journey in shame. There’d be no shame in wearing the Fawn Nightie though. It is a beautiful colour and has such gorgeous detail – it is better tailored than most of my regular clothes. Very cute.

Test Three: Working from Home
Any WAHM knows that the best time to work is when the kids are sleeping. Sometimes this is conveniently in the middle of the day but much of the time it is late at night or at 5.30am. The Nostalgic Stripe Bambi pyjamas are more than perfect for wearing while working (NB: only IF you work from home). They are super comfy and cosy for when the weather starts to get cool. My 3YO loved this pair of PJs – he gave them a hug.

and nostalgic Bambi print $49.00
Test Four: Going to Bed
Before I had kids I imagined life as a parent would be like an ad for bedding. A lazy Sunday sleep-in lovingly disturbed by cute pyjama-ed kiddies jumping on the bed and giving us a morning hug. I’m not sure I’ve had a morning exactly like that but every so often we’ll have some comfy time in bed – reading a story or just playing around. And then there is the other lovely thing we want more of when we become a parent … sleep! These Woodlands Waffle PJs are great for bedtime – I love the colours and they are nice and warm too.
Woodlands Waffle PJ: White fleece PJ with blue waffle sleeves and legging: Soft cotton fleece top with waffle Bambi floral print and matching legging $49.00
