I have a love/hate relationship with the Cookie Monster.
I love him because The Toddler is a little bit scared of him. Not the TV version but the version that sits in the backseat of the ride-on car thing at the shopping centre. The Toddler, like all toddlers, is obsessed with driving those things BUT when he turned around to see his great big blue backseat passenger he wanted out! Yay. Problem solved.
So why do I hate the Cookie Monster?
Because The Toddler thinks it is funny to eat biscuits in the manner he has perfected. I’m not sure if you’ve studied the Cookie Monster to the extent I have but let’s just say that he has black fabric where the opening to his oesophagus should be. This means that despite his constant assertation that he loves cookies – he has damn well never actually eaten one! He just goes “nom, nom, nom” and drops bits of biscuit everywhere … and now, so does my son.
Anyway – I’ve made my peace with Cookie Monster after watching this video he has made parodying the Carly Rae Jepsen song “Call Me Maybe”.
Watch it here:

And in related news, here are some of my other fave clips
Upside Downton Abbey
The O Show
(an Oprah parody that even makes fun of Tom Cruise!)
