Baby Macro food and Peppa Pig sleepwear product safety Recalls

productrecall-babymacropeppapigDo you feed your bub Baby Macro baby food? Is your little one sleeping in Peppa Pig sleep suit or pyjamas? For your bub’s safety – keep reading!

Some products have been recalled due to safety hazards – so read the following carefully and follow the instructions.

Baby Macro Organic Tomato Chicken with Pasta Puree – stop feeding this immediately and return to the store for a full refund.

Metal has been found in this particular baby food pouch which is potentially dangerous if it gets into your baby’s mouth. This product was sold nationally at Woolworths, Safeway, and Thomas Dux stores between May 1st and June 16th 2014.

Look for this identifying feature –

  • Best Before Date: 07/AUG/14

Peppa Pig Sleep Suit and Pyjamas sizes 2-6 – stop wearing these products and return to the store for a full refund.

The bows on this sleepwear are not in accordance with the standard regulations and so are big enough to pose a possible fire hazard if near an open flame. These products were sold nationally at Target and online at target.com.au between March 1st and June 10th 2014.

Look for these identifying features –

  1. I am disappointed at the number of product safety issues at Target, I have a niece that worked there and they made so many people redundant including in their quality and safety department.

    Recent examples are :

    Peppa Pig Knit Pyjama Sizes: 2 to 6
    Sold Dates: March 2014 – June 2014

    Defect: The bows on these garments do not comply with the mandatory standard for children’s
    sleepwear and limited daywear, AS/NZS 1249:2003, as amended by regulation.
    Hazard: The size of these bows may pose a hazard if they come into contact with an exposed flame.

    What are the defects?
    A hairline fracture has been detected on the shield of the comforter.
    What are the hazards?
    Shield separation from the comforter may cause a choking hazard.

    The Airwalk Reflex scooter is a two-wheeled inline scooter. The scooter was sold in two colour schemes: purple/black and black/gold.

    Only the Airwalk Reflex scooter identified with item number 41414 is included in this recall. All other Airwalk scooters are not included.
    Identifying features
    Model Number : 41414
    Batch code : HE 122013

    The model number and batch code can be found on the bottom side of stem connection tube, near the front wheel.
    What are the defects?
    There is a possibility of the steering tube breaking under conditions of extreme use.
    What are the hazards?
    If the defect occurs, the rider may lose control of the scooter, resulting in injury.

    What are the defects?
    It has been identified that the plastic cap on the lock can be removed by an infant.
    What are the hazards?
    If the plastic cap is removed, this may pose a potential ingestion/inhalation hazard to small children.

    10cm high “Wild and Silly” plush toy designs. The designs affected by the recall include the elephant, lion and monkey characters.

    No other Red Nose Day products are affected by this recall.

    The barcode number 9321262001026 is the same for all three plush toys.

    The toys may liberate small parts during use as they do not comply with the mandatory safety standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age (Australian Standard AS/NZS ISO 8124.1:2003, as amended by the regulation).

    Small parts may present a choking hazard to infants.

    The plastic plugs that secure the xylophone keys could be removed by an infant and may pose a choking hazard if ingested.
