Profile

Mini Maestros Australian music programs, developed by leading childhood music education experts, have been teaching children the magic of music for over 25 years.

The Mini Maestros programs are sequentially developed programs for:
     - Pre-school children aged 6 months to 5 years.

The age-specific programs are carefully structured to complement children's natural physical and emotional developmental stages, while at the same time remaining great fun.

Following our philosophy of 'learning through play', Mini Maestros' team of trained educators is committed to nurturing children's innate curiosity in music by providing stimulating musical experiences.

Mini Maestros' unique programs introduce children to the basic elements of music, such as beat, rhythm, tempo, pitch, dynamics and form. Each Mini Maestros lesson builds on the previous one to develop a strong musical foundation for every child.

Children enjoy a diverse range of activities including:
     - Singing, dancing, playing simple percussion instruments, musical games, rhymes, lap plays and prop-based imaginative play.

Mini Maestros is designed not only to introduce musical concepts, but to develop young minds. Through the program, children improve their thinking and listening skills. Speech and vocabularies are strengthened and pre-reading and pre-writing skills are reinforced in the program's later stages. Learning as a member of a small group helps develop sharing skills, self discipline and self control. All of this helps build confidence and prepares your child for kindergarten or school.

Mini Maestros 6-15 months and 1-2 year old classes help parents and carers share a love of music with their child. Our interactive classes will help give you confidence to fulfill this role.

Our 2-3 year old classes focus on developing children's listening and social skills. Fundamental musical elements such as beat, tempo, pitch and dynamics are introduced in a fun and stimulating context. Children participate in activities such as dancing, playing percussion instruments and musical games.

In our 3-4 year old classes, children become more aware of the skills they are learning and begin to identify different musical concepts. Children practise new skills, such as left-to-right reading, which help prepare them for kindergarten and school. They are introduced to music reading via picture symbols and begin to use the music staff.

In our 4-5 year old classes, children start to apply their musical skills to their first tuned instrument, the chime bars. They learn simple notation and practise basic sight -singing techniques. Children are regularly provided with opportunities to boost their confidence and independence through performance activities. Musical games help reinforce children's conscious grasp of musical elements.

Mini Maestros also offers instrumental programs for children aged 5 years and older. These programs focus on the keyboard, with introductions to violin and guitar.

By joining a Mini Maestros class your child will develop new musical skills as well as a strong sense of self-worth, independence and confidence in their own abilities.

Introduce your child to the magic of music today!
