child health maternal and child health clinics - melbourne

The Maternal and Child Health Service run maternal and child health centres provide regular appointments and baby check-ups, parenting courses, breastfeeding help, baby feeding help, childhood immunisation clinics and specialist services when you need some extra help and advice over the telephone. Most of these services are offered free of charge to residents of Melbourne and all other regions of Victoria.

The Maternal and Child Health Service also provides extra resources to support families with additional needs. Early Parenting Centres, such as O'Connell Family Centre, Tweddle Child + Family Health Service and Tweddle@Home provide families with services to assist with infant settling and sleeping, breast or bottle feeding, maternal well-being, and behavioural difficulties. Residential stays are also available. Appointments are usually made by referral from your child health nurse or GP.

Parenting advice is available over the telephone, 24hr, on the Maternal and Child Health Line 13 22 29.
