forum terms & guide to usage

In order to register to become a Member of the Bub Hub Community, you are required to have agreed to the terms laid out within the forum at the time of registration. Having joined, you are assumed to have agreed to abide by these terms and the guidelines and terms laid out below. Please be aware that these terms may change from time to time.

Registration to the Bub Hub Community is free. We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. Although the administrators and moderators of The Bub Hub Community will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off the forum and event calendars, it is possible for unwanted material to slip through. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of The Bub Hub, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.

The information contained within the Bub Hub Community Forum are independent views and opinions and are not necessarily representative of the Bub Hub's views or opinions. We take no responsibility for their accuracy or content.

General Forum Posting Rules
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

Messages should be polite and friendly. Others are free to express their opinions and beliefs and any difference of opinion should not be taken personally. Please do not post any messages that harrass, insult, belittle or threaten another member.

Please do not post with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. This includes messages in profiles and signatures.

Please do not type in CAPITALS within messages, this is tantamount to 'shouting' in e-world and shouldn't be done. Our system is currently set up in such a way that this is not allowed and the system will automatically correct any instance of this.

Members must not impersonate other people, or try to pretend that posts have been made on behalf of others.

Messages should be placed in just one forum section and not copied to multiple discussion areas. If you would like us to create a new discussion category, or would like a previous message moved to another section of the forum, please contact the forum administrators who can do that for you if it is felt to be appropriate.

We do read every message that is posted on the forum, however, to ensure the fluidity of the message board, posts are placed live without being reviewed. We ask you, therefore, to observe the rules and if you spot any other members breaching the rules - or placing messages that you don't feel are appropriate - please let us know and we'll take steps to remove any messages that we feel offend and to warn those concerned. Please do not retailate in open forum, instead report any offending post to the moderators by clicking on the red triangle symbol that appears at the top right of each thread.

The owners of The Bub Hub Community Forum reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

Links to other websites

Members must not canvas for votes for competitions, polls or elections that are not part of the Bub Hub website.

Members must not post links to surveys, competitions or polls on other parenting websites.

Members must not post links to material that could be potentially offensive and/or of a graphic nature.

Members must not advertise other websites without prior permission from the Bub Hub. Links to sites advertising competitions and freebies are not permitted - these links will be removed.

Business Promotion
The Bub Hub Community Forum is a community service and it should not be used for promotion of business services (including work-from-home services) via posts, signatures or private messages with members. If you would like to promote business services to our viewers, please view our free listing application page for the Bub Hub Directory or our advertising options page. Any such messages will be removed and offenders face being banned from future use of the Community and having listings (if they occur) removed from the Bub Hub Directories.

Members must not place invitations for 'sales parties' such as Tupperware or any other goods sold by party plan on the Bub Hub website.

Members must not place advertisements or requests for house-sharing, rent, accommodation-to-let, tenants or any other form of accommodation enquiry. There are other media outlets for this subject matter.

event calendar terms & guide to usage

The events calendar is provided as a FREE community service and may be used for local support group meetings, playgroups, community parenting events, family events and events for children. It may be used by commercial entities publicising an event which is directly relevant to our audience - events such as parenting expos, parent information seminars and children's entertainment events - but it should not be used for long running events, such as long-running plays. We will not accept event postings for business recruitment purposes, however relevant you feel it is to our audience!

Event Titles can be viewed by anybody - not just Community Members. However, details about events - such as location, start times, contact phone numbers and website links - can only be viewed by Community Members once they have logged in to the Forum section of the website.

Remember that any member of the Bub Hub Community can view event details - so please take care if, for any reason, particulars of the event are not for general distribution.

Members may add events to the site - these events are 'owned' by you and you are able to edit and delete them as necessary. Other members are not able to make changes. The Community Administrator (The Bub Hub), is able to amend and delete events as we see fit. We ask Members to be considerate when posting events to the Calendar.

buy and sell section terms & guide to usage

The Buy and Sell categories within the Bub Hub Community Forum are set-up as a facility for Bub Hub Community Members. Any arrangements made through this Forum are entirely your responsibility and Bub Hub can take no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any monies lost or the condition of any goods purchased.

Please do not place links to, or mention items for sale on, eBay in this section - any posts of this nature will be removed.

Please do not post asking for FREE stuff from other members - any posts of this nature will be removed.

Please, please take care when engaging in financial transactions. Ask for specific product details that will help to ensure that the vendor is actually in possesion of the product that you wish to buy. Ensure that you agree on a fixed price and who is paying for any postage/delivery costs before finalising the deal and exchanging money for goods.

Bank deposit details or addresses for cheques to be sent to should be sent via a Private Message using the Private Message system enabled on the board, not via the public Forum where details can be viewed by anybody.

If you do experience any problems, please let us know so that we can warn other users and ban the offenders from the site.
