Default Recipes for home-made ice-blocks...

Hi guys

A friend bought me some of the great Tupperware ice-block makers for Christmas. I was wondering if anyone had any recipes/suggestions for what to put in them... Can you mix yoghurt and fruit and freeze that?? Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Ok this maybe a little tedious but how about filling each one with a small amount of water & drop in a small piece of fruit each then freeze once frozen repeat & do so till they are full so then they have small pieces throughout & maybe even use a little fruit juice (?) Or how about buying some frozen yoghurt wizz some so you can easily pour into the moulds with some fruit chunks then re-freeze (?).

I have made some with mushed up mango mixed with some organic cream - YUMMO! You can do it with bananas too, so yummy

SOmething else you could do is to fill the cups with chopped up grapes and then top up with some diltued fruit juice.

Have fun! Yoghurt also works, blend it with some fruit and maybe honey??? Not sure about the honey.

I used to love them made with custard when I was little - not as healthy as the fruit option... but I LOVED them

My mum used to make jelly top ice blocks. The top 3rd was jelly, usually red, then the rest was fruit juice...my sisters and I loved them

I usually puree a mango or a couple of peaches or nectarines and blend with some plain or vanilla yogurt. You don't have to measure, just chuck it all in together and then pour into icypole makers. This is great for my son who won't touch any fruit except apples and bananas. He he! He has no idea he is eating fruit!!!

We get really yummo natural yoghurt with a berry swirl in it.. we add some to the blender, add about 1/2 cup of pure juice (apple mostly) and a punnet of blueberries, or any other berries and just wizz.. makes awesome colours and is very tasty... my daughter loves making them.

(Hope this isn't too controversial...... personally I think it's a great idea!)
I have read on another forum (or it may well have been this one? Can't remember) some mums make breastmilk icypoles in the hot weather for their really young-uns.
