Default Ethan Victor "Mr. In a hurry!!"

As many of you know i have been suffering from "false starts" and annoying "braxton hicks / prelabour contractions" for quite a few weeks so when i woke up on Friday morning feeling the "tightenings" again i didnt really think anything of it... I had my antenatal appointment that morning and i told her how i had been having the tightenings all morning and she decided to do an internal to see if anything was happening i was 3 cm dilated but my cervix was still long...
She sent me to the hospital anyway due to raised Blood Pressure.

When i arrived at the hospital they checked BP and babys heart rate etc.. and noted i was having the semi-regular "tightenings" (like usual) so kept me there for 4 hours and then did an internal... still 3cm dilated and long cervix... they sent me home.. false labour once again...

I was so depressed when i got home that i ate a whole large pizza for dinner (little did i know i would be in labour in a few hours )

Anyway all of a sudden at 8:30 pm i got a NASTY contraction... then another 4 mins later so we started to time them.. i had only 4 at 4 minutes apart and then they started at 3 minutes apart.... after about 40 minutes of these we called the hospital who said to come in so we raced Samuel around to my parents and off to the hospital (luckily all within minutes of each other).

I arrived at the hospital and jumped into the shower for relief but within minutes i wanted some pain relief luckily i knocked back Peth and just took some gas but after about 5 sucks i felt so sick (probably all that pizza) so i stopped and just walked and walked... not long after i was asked by the midwife if my waters had broken i couldnt speak so she looked at my knickers and due to a small hindwater leak assumed so... but they hadnt....

next i remember was saying "baby is coming" pushing, pushing **GUSH** there go those waters (midwife says " ok so it must have been a hindwater leak before...LOL) pushing, pushing and after 13 minutes of pushing at 10:43pm baby Ethan arrived !!

So after a measly 2 hours and 23 minutes it was all over, i was in a bit of shock and had some 2nd degree tearing but all in all no dramas, as they were prepared for a bleed (after a previous PPH) they gave me some kind of shot and i only lost a small amount of blood but more importantly NO PROBLEMS with Ethan at all !!! (Samuel was a sick baby so all we ever wanted out of this pregnancy was a healthy baby !!)

I never even saw a doctor..my FANTASTIC midwife did it all,or as she says "i did it all!!" (she was just awesome) and she had DH's help, in fact she used him alot !! He is chuffed to have been so involved

So after weeks of waiting to meet my little man, he is here and all is well

Thanks for sharing Trace - that's a lovely story.

I'm sure all of the mummies due soon will be hoping to have it over as quickly as you ... but as you say, your body has been prepping for a while now!

My only question to you is, how on earth did you manage an entire pizza with an 8lb baby in there! You go girl.

The tearing sucks but won't take long to heal. Take care of yourself and your boys. x
