Red face Hi Ali

Hi Ali,

Welcome to BubHub - I am not from Canberra, I live on the Northside of Brisbane. I know what it is like to have no family around. My family live in NSW and my in-laws are from the bush (farmers).

I have a little girls who is now 2.5 yrs old and keeping me very busy.

Hope to chat again.

Wendy

Hi Ali,
I'm now in Brisbane originally from NSW - gave birth to my dd in NSW but left when she was 6 days old. Not much fun without family but I'm starting to make some friends and we've started a Mum's group up through this site. Feel free to come along or just have a chat on line.

My husband spent some time in Canberra and my BIL is now living there!

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for your reply & it's great to hear that there are others out there without family around them.
Sometimes I think that it's not so bad as they all have their own issues & you feel like they brecome yours sometimes but I still do miss them.
My MIL is having a hard time accepting that I don't want her around for the labour & birth & that I have asked her to come up from Syd after a few weeks have past.
I would like my own family here for the birth (I don't have room in the house for both families) not to mention that My MIL is a very messy & lazy lady who doesn't know how to spell clean up!! Our families don't really get along either so it's best to manage the visits to be separate.
Am getting closer now with only 7 weeks till EDD so am getting things finished & nesting I guess you call it.
How did your little girl go with toilet training? I have a girlfriend that is a single parent and doing well with it all but finding it frustrating when he regresses back to being lazy & having accidents in the nickers. All fun & games she says.
I can't wait for the fun to start ?????????????
Bye for now & have a good day

Cheers Ali

Hi Ali

I know what you mean with the MIL. I tried to keep mine away as long as possible when I was due. My mum came up from Sydney to help which was great. I think the MIL came to visit around 3mths, and that was stressful enough. My family has never met my IL, counting 10 yrs now. Amazing!!!

What hospital are you going to? I went to Northwest Private. Tiffany had no real trouble with toilet training, she just decided one day that was enough of the nappies and wanted panties. I send her to daycare a couple days a week and I think she learnt from the bigger kids. Touch wood I had it easy.

Will talk again soon.

Wendy

PS. Tiff has just woken from a nap.
