My birth story

I thought i might share my birth story with all of you too...its not that EXCITING but I would still like to share how my beautiful baby girl was brought into the world

Okay well It was around 9pm & i went to bed SOOOOOOOO tired as i had been up early that day i passed out pretty quickly but remember waking up with pains in the stomach but was that tired i just kept falling asleep. Then at around midnight i woke up to a wet bed. At first i thought i had wet my bed so i didnt want to say anything to DP as i was embarrassed. But then more water just kept coming & coming out. So i woke my DP & he jumped out of bed so quickly. We were at his mums place so he woke his mum up & she came in to see the big wet patch & said we should call the hospital. So i got my DP to call the hospital as i was scared of going into labour & didnt really want to talk to anyone. But then the midwife wanted to talk to me so i got on the phone & she said i should come in straight away. My MIL's place is about an hour from the hospital & we had to go back to our place first to get my hospital bag so we left straight away. I called my mum on the way to tell her & she said she would meet us at our place. So we got there & my legs were shaking with excitement & fear. Tiny pains were starting to kick in. So we got the bag then headed off to the hospital...my mum driving behind us & my DP scared out of his brains & driving like a maniac Then we finally got there & the pains were starting to get worse. The midwife hooked me up to some machine & told me to press the button every time bubs moved or i got a contration.
About an hour into it i felt like i was going to die from all the contrations now getting more frequent & stronger. The midwife checked me out & said I had a choice either to go home & come back at 10am the next day or just stay in hospital but my DP couldnt stay. I said i would go home then (i didnt want to..i just needed to poo soo bad) So she said she would get something & walked out..then i ran into the toilet..haha...relief..
Then when she came back i said i changed my mind & i would stay then she said to tell DP to keep quiet & he could stay too.
Then around 4am i was begging for an epi but the midwife said i didnt need it & i was doing well around that time i wanted to bash her for telling me what i did and did not need after all i was the one in pain not her. So she said she would give me pethadine & sleeping pills because the baby might not come till tomorrow night yet A contraction came along & i jumped out of bed and starting rocking on DP telling him how this is all his fault & i wish he could go through all this & not me.. hahah..then as i was bending over a needle went in my bum (the pethadine) I had a shower about 20 times & asked the midwife if i was allowed to she said she didnt care..she wasnt paying for the water bill lol.
Then somehow i ended up falling asleep. I woke up to someone stroking my face..i thought it was my DP but opened my eyes & it was the midwife. i asked her what the time was & she said 6.40am. I then groaned & asked her if i was nearly there and she said about half way now. Then i looked beside me & seen DP sleeping & wacked him telling him hes not allowed to sleep while im going through pain here. But he rolled over on the chair & fell back asleep. So i paced the room in pain moaning & praying out loud to god to make all the pain stop! By around 7am i felt i needed to push so i told my DP & he told the midwife but she said the baby wouldnt be here for a long time yet and there wasnt need to push...but i REALLY felt like i had to push there was soo much pressure there & i started pushing anyway. Then i felt bubs head coming out..so i told DP to get the midwife & in stead of pressing the buzzer he went running through the ward like a mad man looking for her. They came back abour 5minutes later and the babies head was out already & she kept saying sorry she didnt know how far along i was. I was then screaming & crying my eyes out that i couldnt do it anymore. DP had a big smile on his face. Midwife no 2 asked if i wanted a mirror i told her to get F**ked then she asked if i wanted to feel the babies hair & again i told her where to go. After screaming my lungs out the baby was out!!! I told my DP how much i loved him & asked the midwife if he could hold her first (at first i thought she was a boy coz it looked like she had tesictles but was reasurred it was a girl) the midwife said she needed to go to me first as soon as i held her baby started sucking on my breast & i started crying. Then Dp had to cut the cord..i didnt see it was too busy staring at my new bundle of joy. Then midwife asked me to cough to get the plencenta out & i coughed about 100 times before it came out. Then midwife told me to have a shower as they had to check bubs over so i got up & fell over again (didnt realize how hard it was to get up after all that)

That was the day my beautiful baby girl SUMMER LEIGH came into the world!!!

I enjoyed reading your story, Krissy. Man, sometimes midwives don't have a clue!! Good on you for doing most of it yourself. You're a champ!!
