Smile Tahlia Rose's Wild Ride!!

Due Date: 28/11/2004

Date: Wednesday 27/10/04
At 4.30am I woke with a start, I thought 'oh my god I dribbled' (not my mouth ) Woke DP up and told him "I think my waters have broken" he is a heavey sleeper and told me to go back to sleep!! The dumb thing is I did!!

11am thursday 28th: No gel, straight to the drip. 5 hours on the drip until the midwife decided to crank it up to full power. I had a mid who was a b*tch she wouldn't get me anything and wouldn't let me in the shower, she tried to do weird breathing with me and I told her to stop making me hyperventalate!! I called in my own nurse ( a friend of mine and she pretty much took over from there...we where all happy then!) at about 5pm My first internal found I was only 2cm.

They broke my waters as they discovered that when they first broke DD had blocked the hole, that's why it was only a dribble. WELL The drip was then too strong and my contraction didn't finish. They didn't rest so I had a full hour of contraction.
I screamed for an epi and the Mid went out to get the anathesiest.....time went by and i was screaming for the needle and telling DP that I had had enough and was going home.. DP went outside and low and behold the mid was outside the door 'sidetracked' talking too another mid with cuppa's. Screaming followed and 10 min later in walked the epi-man!! It took him 5 attempts as the drip was still too high and my epi space is 5cm more than anyone he has ever seen apparently I called him 'my new god' (if you knew me..I HATE needles, so this is a feat in itself!!)

once the epi kicked in I was a different person.
7:02pm the mid did another internal, looked up at DP and said " Can you please hit that red button!" 10cm Woohoo!! People were running everywhere!! After two pushes we were almost there and then on the last push (total of three!! YAY!!) DD's heart rate plummeted so I heaved all I could and out she came with the cord around her arm and neck, her arm was up beside her head and really bruised!! At 7.17pm Tahlia Rose Sutton was born weighing 5lb 10oz She didn't breath so they had to start her breathing..All I could hear was a little grunt now and then. She was really sick

By this time I was in histerical and after 10 min she was aloud a cuddle.. then off to special care with DP. I didn't see her until 12.30 that night and wouldn't go to sleep with out seeing her. the worst part about it was that because I didn't see her for very long I walked into special care and asked them which one was my baby!! All in all after 5 stitches and two weeks in SCN we were home!!

Sorry if this seems long guys but it was only the short version...a lot was left out!!

My DS1 was born 16/10/2004 with a due date of 16/11/2004, so our kids are the same age, and born the same amount early!!!

Sounds like you had a bit of a hard time with her though. We were very lucky with Noah he was really healthy and strong. And now I'm going through the same thing again with DS2, his due date was 4/6/2006, he was born 29/04/2006
