Default Tony Ferguson, Celebrity Slim and Other Milkshake Diets...

...do they actually work?

I swore I'd lose weight after bub with good eating and exercise, but with DP away 10 days of each fortnight, it's hard to find time to cook healthy meals for myself.

I'm just wondering if anyone's had any success with these shake diets, and when do you stop?

Because obviously at some point you reach your goal weight...then what?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I Swear by TF!!!!!

Tf will tell you when your BMI is too low. Then I've cut down to one a day... then soon to be only weekdays then only weekends. Instead eating lots of fish and vegetables

I have done tony ferguson and that ultra slim or whatever, another shake one. Yeah I lost a little bit of weight in the beginning but I found I was really grumpy and really hungry and got so sick of the shakes about 3 weeks in. I also gained all the weight back as soon as I started eating regular meals.
I dont think they are good personally, rapid weightloss is not healthy.

My opinon is no they don't - in the short term yes, but once you go back to eating 3 meals a day again the weight slowly comes back plus more.
I'll never do shake diets again.

I went on the tony ferguson and got very sick. Infact as a result I'm now on perminant meds it made me that sick. I find they really block you up simply because they are full on geletin to fill you up. And as BeverlyB said in the short term you may lose weight but in the long term it won't stay off without staying on it all the time.

I myself swear by the CSIRO diet. I've cut my protien down to half what it says this time so hopefully it will work for me still. Last time I was on it I lost 7.5kgs in 2 weeks. I've got a lot of weight to lose. I haven't weighed myself since I started again so I'll just have to wait and see this time round.

I think it depends on what you are looking for

If you are after fast & short term weight loss then you might consider them effective. Shake diets will often set you up for a lifetime of yoyo dieting-which studies have shown can be more detrimental for your health than if you had maintained a stable abeit heavier weight.

If you are after healthy & long term weightloss then you are probably better sticking to what you are doing and trying to modify your plan so that it works for you. Even light and easy would be better than those shakey options (IMO) at least that resembles real food.

Totally agree. My sister in law went on Tony Ferguson and lost 10 kilos in a few months...She maintained it for a while, then once she stopped having the shakes etc...she put it all back on! It might be good for an upcoming event, like a wedding or something, but I dont think it's a long term weight loss solution.

I went on TF and HATED it. The shakes are AWFUL - made me gag most of them... i did loose some weight, but when i stopped TF i stacked all the weight back on...

I am starting Cohens tomorrow - i'm very positive about it as it actually teaches you to eat NORMAL, healthy food, balance portion sizes etc etc... it helps balance out your homones... and there are some AMAZING results...

Good luck in whatever you choose!! Shakes are good for a "quick fix" but that's not really ideal if you want to keep the weight off...
