Talking Ok here it is,.. the birth story of Kailah Ann.

I arrived at the hospital Thursday 9th march at 6 pm to be induced with cervidil tape. They had to do a CTG first. I was contracting mildly and then Kailah's heart rate dropped dramatically and it was taking a long time to come back up. The DR came in and starting talking to me about a c-sect if her heart rate didn't come back to normal soon. Well that sent me into a panic, a c-sect was the last thing I wanted!
After more than half an hour and some moving around it returned to normal. So they put the tape in and told me to get some rest. Like that's possible in the maternity ward! ...crying babies and buzzers going off left right and centre! Was so glad I scored a single room!!!!

I was having mild irregular contractions all night that woke me. Come morning they checked if the tape was doing anything to my cervix and I was told that it hadn't done a thing! I was so peeved and dissapointed. The DR said that if it hadn't done anything by that night they would wait until the next morning and put ANOTHER lot in! I was even more upset!

I continued to contract but they soon got regular and painful, every 5 min! Come lunch time I couldn't handle it anymore and asked for some panadene forte just so I could get some rest. When I woke they had eased a little and the stopped for about an hour. I thought, great, all that contracting for nothing!
Then they started up again, every 5 min and painful.

8pm rolled around and it was time for the tape to be removed. The nurse came in and removed it and said have a good nights sleep.
Well, I was not happy jan! The DR had no intention on examining me, so I demanded for her to examine me! DR came in and and had a feel of my cervix and to everyone's suprise I was 4 cm!!!! YAY!!! All that contracting WAS doing something after all!

I decided to go for a nice long walk around the hospital to help it along a little more. Then returned to my room for a nice hot shower.
By 9.30pm friday night, I was tired and so was DH, so I sent him home for a break but told him to be prepared as I 'knew' it wasn't long off.

WELL, by 11pm I was on all fours rocking on the bed and called DH to come back and that I was going to the delivery suite to meet me in there.
Contrations at this stage were all over the place, there was no sense to them at all!

Had to be strapped up to the CTG machine again for about half hour and then I got into the bath, ... aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! It was so nice in there!
It had jets and everything!!! And the midwife got me an extension for the gas so I could have it in there!
WAs in there for a while until it got to the pushing stage, then I went back to the bed on all fours.... no way was I going to give birth on my back again!

After around an hour of pushing Kailah Ann was born! at 2:02 Saturday March 11th weighing in at 9lb 2oz (4130 grams) 52cm long 34cm HC.
A perfect little angel who looks like her Daddy!

I had a second degree tear which needed stitching, and ALOT of grazing
