Default Birth of Jordan Kai

Well now for Jordans Birth story.

It was 27th Aug 2003 my due date. i went to the hosp for my antenatal visit and was hoping to be induced but he was only 2/5 engaged so the OB told me to come back same time next week if i didn't have him earlier. Well you guessed it didn't have him in that week so back to hosp and this time was booked in to be induced the next day YAY!

We arrived at the hosp 6am the next morn Thurs 4th September and were taken to the birht suites there were 2 other ladies being induced at the same time. I was the last to have my waters broken at 830am at the time i was already 3 cm dilated and i didn't even know. They hooked the drip up and then i walked around the courtyard to get the contractions going.
My first contraction was at about 1030am, but not too unbearble. the drip was turned up and i spent the time listening to Van Morrison and talking to my DH, my mum & my Sister. Once the drip was turned upthe contractions started to increase in speed and intensity but i found leaning forward, rocking and concentrating on my breathing was enough to get me through them. The anaethetist came in to see if i wanted an epidural but i said no as i was determined to have a drug free labour this time.
Anyway about 12pm i started to get really restless and emotional and i knew i was in transition the midwife sugested a change of position so i made my way slowly to the side of the bed. I was standing leaning on the side of the bed rocking when i realised i needed to push. The midwife and DH assisted me onto the bed as this is what i felt most comfortable with. The midwife examined me and sure enough i was 10cm dilated and she i could push with the next contraction. I had my DH rubbing my back my mum sponging my face and my sister learning how to be a midwife at the end of the bed.
About 1/2hr later my beautiful baby boy was born at 1257pm, he came out crying. he was placed straight onto my tummy for a cuddle then had the cord cut and was weighed and wrapped and given back to me, He went straight on the boob and fed for the entire time it took to get stiched up. He weighed 7lbs6oz, was 50cm long and had a head circumfrance of 35cm. He was and still is just like his sister perfect and absolutely beautiful.
